      a great stylish hob.

When we bought our brand new home what the kitchen was like is a big deal for me seeing as I'm the one who does all the cooking in our house. I wanted it to look nice and be practical and for me it has to be a gas hob I just do not get on with electric hobs. When we bought the house it came with all the appliances so we didn't specifically choose this hob so I had no idea if it was a good or bad thing!

Like I just mentioned we didn't actually purchase this hob ourselves it came with the house but after looking around online you are looking at around £150-£200 for it depending on where you buy which to me seems pretty expensive just for a hob without an oven but thankfully we didn't have to worry about that.

The hob is stainless steel with black metal pot stands, burners and stainless steel and black plastic knobs. It has the whirlpool logo in the bottom right corner engraved into the stainless steel. It looks gorgeous in the kitchen really sleek and stylish, its something I would of picked myself.

On the hob their are 3 different sized burners; 1 small, 2 medium and a large. For me the sizes are great, I use the medium ones most as they fit my medium sized pans and frying pans perfectly. The large ring is perfect for my large casserole dish and evenly covers it with heat although for safety I wish this was at the back not the front of the hob. The small is the one I use least as it takes a while to heat through my pans but it is perfect for when you need less heat or more control over the heat.

There is a good range of flame size on all the burners giving you really good control of how hot you want the pan or pot to be. Right from burning really big to the smallest barely there flame so I've never had any issues with heat control on this hob.

The knobs are positioned down the side of the hob which I really like as oppose to those positioned along the bottom as you can see them better and they are out the way of little paws. They push down easily and the clicking of the gas is clear. Usually it only takes one turn to light the rings so its easy to use and light no faffing with matches needed! The one thing I do find is the large ring tends to flame out so you have to stand back a little.
The position of the dials to which ring it lights makes perfect sense to me and there are small diagrams on the side aswell but you soon learn which is which.

The pot stands that sit across the hob are in two vertical sections that sit in little grooves on the hob base with little rubber feet. It sits and fits really securely and I've never had issues with them slipping or moving around. They sit nice and flat and my pans sit really nicely on them totally evenly. They are easy to remove and put back on just by lifting off and then sitting back in the grooves.

Cleaning stainless steel isn't the easiest if you don't want it all smeary but I clean it down with a kitchen cleaner first then wipe with kitchen towel and rub a little baby oil into it and it comes up lovely and shiny.
The pot stands clean up really easily as do the burner rings and because they are black they don't show up dirt for a long time anyway.
I have found the stainless steel scratches a little but its nothing mega and is only noticeable up close.

Ive been really impressed with the overall quality of this hob, there has been no flaking paint from the burners or pot stands and the gas lighters work every time. The whole thing just looks good quality and its functionality certainly backs this up its a joy to use.

Overall I've been so pleased with this hob. I'd never used Whirlpool appliances before but based on this I'd be happy to use them and purchase them in the future. There are a few minor negatives so I will deduct one star but that really is me nit picking and being a little harsh as I use this hob every day multiple times usually and its reliable every time.
If you are looking for a hob that has both style and substance along with great quality you need to look no further than this whirlpool gas hob, it serves me well.
4 out of 5 stars for this brilliant Whirlpool product.
