Sony DAV DZ230 ... it looks fantastic, sounds fantastic but it does have a flaw. Starting with this flaw, the problem with this system from Sony is the lack of inputs available on the main player. It does not accept components, just scart leads, so you need an adapter for RGB components to scart if you want to play a few things through this such as an MP3 player or an ipod. This leads to another sub problem which is that it does not have a port for an ipod- I found this quite disappointing. On the plus side however, it sounds absolutely brilliant. Sony DAV DZ660 ... recently bought this surround sound system to go with my Sony Bravia tv ( w4000 ) This system was the best value system by far that i could get for the money, some of the features i particularly like are the full 1080p upscaling dvd player wich realy does make a huge difference to the quality of the picture producing darker blacks and much cripser lines when watching a dvd. It is very easy to set up using the auto callibration mic and the menu is easy to navigate. The sound quality is very good it has 850 watts speakers which realy pack a punch. Samsung HT DS100 ... is my first Home Cinema System, cheep and cheerful, easy to install, speaker wires long enough for an average room but no problems in a bigger room as wires only have moulded conections at the unit end and grip type at the speeker end enabling you to extend with ease. Pre- set sound cinema effects, effective, many useful features and radio works well, enabling you store more than enough stations but reliability is poor and if not used much becomes arthritic, DVD often has to be reintroduced as the reader often fails and for no apparent reason my remote has failled, have replaced the remote with with universal off the peg remote but have lost so many feactures.
