Philips HTS3500S ... I was very satisfied with this model which I bought 2 years back. But recently I was experiencing some problem with it. When I turn on the set it made a loud "thud" on the speakers and the unit goes to standby with the red lights blinking. Nothing happen when I use the power button both on the set and remote. Whenever this happen, I had to reset the unit by unplugging the plug for about 1 minute and reconnect. When I searched the internet, I found out that there are also other users experiencing similar problem. Sony DAV DZ830W ... bought this system a year ago, and I m not a really technical person, but I can tell you about all the great things it does! S-master digital amplifier (1200W)S-DIAT wireless rear speakers means you get great surround sound, without wires trailing across the floor. I thought the infra red transmission might have a delay, but it s perfect! BRAVIA theatre sync - you can synchronise your Sony Bravia TV with the sound system, so that when you switch the TV on or off the sound system does the same. Movie/music mode - the system has preset sound modes for different types of movie, so if you re watching Moulin Rouge you can select the appropriate mode to get the best sound... Sony HT SF1100 ... This is a 5.1 surround sound system that is just shocking, pure excellence. I got this from the Sony Centre for £300, usual price is around £349.99, but can be found cheaper on amazon. I got a Samsung 28inch HDTV, but the sound quality is poor, i use my consoles and Sky+HD a lot and even though i am enjoying top picture quality, its just wasn t right without the sound. One thing that attracted me to this was the 2 HDMI inputs and no DVD player (i had it buit in with my PS3 and Xbox 360).
