Advantages: well made, lasts, good sound

Disadvantages: cables & more cables

although this is low cost the sound quality is very natural.

There are however a number of little niggles with this item. If you're saving energy and turn this off when not in use then you have to remember when you turn it on it goes into standby so you have to switch it in t the wall and on the main unit. Also it takes a long tie for the sound to come through when you switch it on (well about 10 seconds) we have ours hooked up to our virgin media V+ box & when that box boots it's about 2 minutes before the sound comes through. You also have to put the speakers in the right place, we had to get our own cables as those supplied were not long enough &then you have to put the cables somewhere and tack the into place. as we have the main box for this unit, the v+ a wii, xbox, xbox 360 under our telly we had to put the sub somewhere else.

Saying all that - the range of effects is good and you can clearly hear the difference between them. It has not failed us in nearly 3 years (touch wood), it looks good and is easy to use. The integrated dvd player also works fine.

Summary: a nice solid machine, could be better
