      Awesome bit of kit!

I first saw this Panasonic Surround Sound system in my local Comet store and decided to give it a quick blast, and was suitably impressed with the quality of sound coming out of even the small satalite speakers. The whole set-up includes a Dvd player (that will upscale regular dvd's up to 1080)- HDMI lead not-included, Front left-speaker, front right, front left, rear left and the rear right speaker, obviously not forgetting the floor standing sub-woofer. On test I found the speakers to more than cope with just about any musical score or sound effects. I tested "The incredibles" and thats exactly what it was (cheesy pun!), seriously though the treble sounded crisp, with excellent seperation between speakers. The bass often can prove "splashy" in this range but I found it to be extremley tight, and pitch perfect. The whole unit comes equipped with a hdmi connection to hook it up to your HD ready TV. It also comes equipped with an optical connection so that you can connect it to any TV and what ever you are watching on TV the audio will automatically come through the speakers. (optical connections are not often seen on the lower end systems) The PT560 also has a calibration micraphone (something I used when setting mine up!) this can save alot of time and effort when youre not sure how to calibrate the speakers properly. Just put the mic where your going to sit and let the unit do the rest, simple! The picture quality for me was the real surprise, the black levels looked bold, red, green, and blue values clearly represented and edge detail even at speed seemed to keep pretty sharp! The setting's on the home cinema couldn't be easier to follow and (as ever with Panasonic) the EPG I found extremley clear to follow. All in all a tremdous unit for the price Must buy! Mark.

Good Quality Product, worth the money

After seeing this in Currys I fell in love with it. It looks fantastic, with two satellite speakers that you can hang on the wall (up in the 2 corners at the back of the room) Then the 2 front speakers come with stands. As well as the centre speaker which sits well on my mantle piece beneath the tv hanging on the wall. And then there's the sub woofer. The surround amp/dvd is a good size, about the size and thickness of a normal dvd player. The surround amp and dvd player had HDMI output. Which upscales standard dvds to High Definition. This makes the picture quality look outstanding. The power output is 1000watt. And sub woofer is around 270 watt, which means the bass shakes the room without distorting. This is also good as it has and ipod and usb docking station on the front so you can listen to music as loud as you want in the house (even over the vacuum cleaner!!!) What's even better about this is you can view and select the songs on your ipod on the tv screen, so no more bending down to look at a tiny screen to make sure you have the right song. It also has an optical input, this is so you can connect other devices like a games console or sky box so they can have surround sound as well. This is our fourth surround sound and it's by far the best. Previous models have included Philips and Samsung which are not even have as good as this model. This cost me around £250 in Currys last year and was definately worth every penny.
