The unit is quite slim line so you are able to place it nearly anywhere, and also the slim line makes it look good. The speakers itself are quite attractive, and are really good, they perform quite well even at loud volumes. The sound quality is great. Also the speaker cables that you get in the box are fairly long, so I was really able to place the back speakers at the back of the room, and not use extra cable. Well it looks fantastic, sounds fantastic but it does have a flaw. Starting with this flaw, the problem with this system from Sony is the lack of inputs available on the main player. It does not accept components, just scart leads, so you need an adapter for RGB components to scart if you want to play a few things through this such as an MP3 player or an ipod. This leads to another sub problem which is that it does not have a port for an ipod- I found this quite disappointing. On the plus side however, it sounds absolutely brilliant.
