Advantages: Superb sound and perfect picture

Well it looks fantastic, sounds fantastic but it does have a flaw. Starting with this flaw, the problem with this system from Sony is the lack of inputs available on the main player. It does not accept components, just scart leads, so you need an adapter for RGB components to scart if you want to play a few things through this such as an MP3 player or an ipod. This leads to another sub problem which is that it does not have a port for an ipod- I found this quite disappointing.

On the plus side however, it sounds absolutely brilliant. The best film I have watched with this was actually Das Boot and the surround sound was sensational, really helping capture the atmosphere of a submarine. A really neat feature is that it comes shipped with a special microphone which lets it set up the appropriate sound levels for individual speakers.

Finally it looks extremely sleek and the speakers are inconspicuous whilst good looking at the same time.

Summary: For a cheap system this really outperforms its competitors
