      An excellent system.

Another excellent piece of home theatre kit from Sony. With all the usual and expected DTS, 5.1ch surround, HDMI inputs/outputs etc this is a comprehensive system. What sets it apart from the rest, is its ease of use and sound quality.
Dealing with the former, the manual make this system very easy to set up. I have it connected to a DVD player, TV, Sky+ box, Wii and computer (wirelessly via an Apple Airport) and all worked first time with no problem. The unit even picks up the quality of the signal being received (e.g. 44khz etc).
In relation to the latter, the sound quality is excellent. Watching DVDs, the surround sound is fantastic. The unit really comes into its own in relation to music however. There is a vast array of different settings (theatre, cinema, hall, disco). The one excellent feature for parties is reverting from surround sound to 5ch stereo - whereby each speaker outputs the same stereo sound. Perfect at parties when everyone is all over the room and surround sound is not the appropriate sound.
