Advantages: Cheap, but not value for money!

Disadvantages: Badly designed, doesn't do the job

I bought this clothes rail as I had run out of wardrobe space andt his seemed like a cheap space saving alternative to getting a second one or a much bigger one. Unfortunately it didn't really work out as planned!

The clothes rail was cheap, admittedly, at only £8.99 it had the benefit of not breaking the bank, but sometimes its true that you get what you pay for!

The clothes rail felt flimsy and cheap even as I was putting it up, it was easy and quick to assemble but some of the key weight bearing parts were made of very flimsy plastic and I was worried about how much weight it would be able to handle. It was very prone to wobbling and you could push the whole thing from side to side easily. The castors were next to useless so it wasn't easy to move it around with sending it flying!

As a result of the flimsiness, I was careful not to overload this clothes rail as I just didn't trust it. However, I still arrived home one day to find that one of the plastic corner brackets connecting the upright poles to the horizontal hanging rail had snapped in two and that my clothes were in a big pile on the floor. This was only about 6 weeks after I bought the rail, so just over a pound for each week of use!

Obviously, I don't feel that I can recommend this rail to anybody as it is really badly designed and just isn't fit for purpose. I was tempted to take it back to Argos to complain but for the sake of less than a tenner it didn't seem worth the hassle of convincing them I hadn't weighed it down with heavy suits and ballgowns!

I replaced the rail with one from Ikea which as well as being cheaper is much more sturdy and better designed. I'd say skip Argos all together and go straight to the Swedes for this one!

Summary: Just don't bother!
