“ Brand: Argos / Type: Rug „
We have a few different bits and pieces around the house from Argos, including lots of cushions, curtains and other soft furnishings. We always find their stuff good quality and a reasonable price to boot.
We have two of their sparkly shaggy rugs in our house - one is brown and in the living room and other one is exactly the same only in a deep plum colour and in the front bedroom.
We have laminate floors in both of these rooms and the idea was to make the room feel a little bit more comfortable (and warm on the feet) by chucking down a nice softrug. Both of these rugs cost us £39.99 each (but we had some vouchers as presents at the time so probably got about another ten pounds off the total price).
The rugs are a really good size for the price at 160cm x 120cm. The lttle lad loves them and likes to sit on the one in the living room on a night after his bath when he has his jim jams on becase he says it feels lovely and cosy and soft. It is really nice to walk on when you have bare feet and the shaggy pile is really long and has a nice luxurious feel to it.
It is made of about 20% polyester and the rest is made of polypropalane and is checked for fire safety etc as it says in the tag that came with it. Both the brown one and the plum one look really good against the laminate floor and give the rooms a nice look - quite warm and snug.
The only downside with these rugs is that because they are so deep and shaggy there is a tedancy for stuff to get lost in between the pile. The little lad likes to eat a bowl of frozen peas when he watches the telly (strange child that he is) and we often find the odd pea wedged deep down in the pile when we come to give it a shake.
All in all though a great rug, good quality, and not very expensive.

==Argos Shaggy Sprakle Rug==
the last rug we had was a beige/cream colour and with little Jack and Himself always wearing their shoes inside the house and generally being a couple of dirt creators, it wasn't long before the rug didn't look too great. Even though I cleaned it by hand and also with the Carpet cleaner it never came up as well as I would of liked. So with this in mind I decided on getting a replacement.
Argos is of course the first place I thought of when looking for this type of item and is indeed where I purchased my last rug. I found what I wanted straight away in this Shaggy Sparkle Rug. At £39.99 p for quite a large sized rug it wasn't too expensive and there were plenty of different shades to choose from. To match my front room colour scheme I decided on getting the dark chocolate coloured rug but the other colours were really nice too.
Other colours include: Natural, Fuchia, Black and Plum. The size of the rug is Length 160 cm by 120 cm width (L 63 inches by W 47 inches). This is a good size and very similar to the one we already had.
I liked the idea of getting a shaggy rug as out previous one was very hard and short pile which wasn't especially comfortable to sit on and considering we have hard flooring felt very hard on the bum so with that in mind I thought that a thicker rug would make the time I spend on the floor playing with Jack a little more comfortable.
The sparkle in the rug is hardly noticeable when it is in place on the floor as the sparkly bits get lost in amongst the shagginess of the brown material. When it first went down I was really pleased with the overall look and feel of the rug. Although man made materials (76% polypropalene, 23% polyester and 1% metalised polyester) the rug feels thick and soft to sit on. The block colour is not a great design and because I had been used to a bit more of a colour design on the floor previously the dark block of chocolate colour did take some time to get used to.
However I fist noticed a negative about the rug not long after we had it down on the floor. Jacks socks seemed to attract the shaggy fluff that was coming off of the rug in an alarming rate and before and after washing I have been picking big clumps of brown fluff off everyone's socks. Not only is it attracted to socks but it also just comes off and collects itself in corners of the room and hoovering the rug is no quick task. Jacks Lego pieces get lost within the thick shagginess of the rug and I have to do a full check of the rug before getting the vacuum out on to it.
To hoover the rug properly is just not possible even with my Dyson as the crumbs just seem to get buried and can't be sucked up and every once in a while I have to haul it outside and give it a good upside down shake.
All in all I think I mildly like this rug although I can't say I would opt for a shaggy one like this again as with Jack loving little bits of Lego and making a good deal of crumbs every few hours it just isn't very practice. The rug itself is a good price and comfortable to sit on although I was a bit disappointed with the sparkly bits in the rug which I didn't seem to really notice at all.
I think an average 3 out of 5 star rating is in order for this rug and I can't say I would wholly recommend it.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
