Argos Modular TV entertainment unit
When we finally moved from a small city flat to our lovely home in the country we had more space than we knew what to do with, or at least we used to. My husband quickly snapped up one of the downstairs rooms as an office / games room / man cave. And I was promptly informed that no man cave would be complete without a decent sized TV, blue-ray player, games console and some sort of sound system... And with that in mind he needed to get himself something to display and keep it all in place. So he ended up with the Argos Modular TV entertainment unit in a beech effect.
For a piece of flat pack furniture it was not all that difficult to put together and had minimal parts. It really only took my husband and myself less than an hour to assemble the Argos Modular TV entertainment unit and arrange it in place. The instructions as far as I remember were straightforward and really it was a simple shape and design to put together, and although there was two of us building it one person would have managed just fine.
As I mentioned we own the TV unit in the beech effect, which in all honesty doesn't look like natural wood but a flat pack alternative. However, if beech is not your effect of choice the Argos Modular TV entertainment unit is also available in a pine, oak, walnut, white or black ash effect. So plenty to pick from and a shade I imagine to suit the majority of people's room interiors.
The TV unit has so far proved to be sturdy and has more than enough room up top for a 32 inch TV without looking small. The unit also has four separate shelves which really come in very hand for any games consoles or blu-ray / DVD players, etc, etc. My hubby also uses one of the four shelves to house blu-rays and X-box games. For taking up a relatively small area of the room the Argos Modular TV entertainment unit provides quite a bit of storage and look ok.
We paid £39.99 for our Argos Modular TV entertainment unit and although it does look a bit cheap it has served its purpose well and still looks as good as new, it is just not a piece of furniture that I love. The Modular TV entertainment is part of the Argos Maine collection, so if you like the TV unit and you like to coordinate your furniture you could.
The Argos Modular TV entertainment unit is available to buy online with free delivery or from one of the many Argos stores that are scattered around the UK.

I have owned this tv/dvd unit now for about 2 years or so. My ex partner bought it me from Argos and the price it retails at now is £39.00 though when we got it I do think it was a little cheaper than this. I wanted the beech version of this to go with all the other beech furniture I had going on at the time.
It came in a box and to be honest I can't remember alot about that as its been so long since I got this but it came flat packed with a picture of the unit made up on it with the dimensions given on it and we were clearly told what it was and who it was by.
As I have mentioned this comes flat packed and made up it measures H46, W103, D50cm and has a weight of 23.5kg.
Within the box you get a set of instuctions which are actually rather easy to follow and 6 pieces of the beech coloured wood and you get scew covers as well as the screws and a back panel which is a bit like chip board really with holes in it to feed wires and cables through. It was easy enough for one person to put together this and took him about an hour and he used a hand held screw driver to do the job.
Once made up it makes a large one shelved design of unit with 4 holes to put things on and the top of it holds a tv up to the size of 37 inches according to the information I was provided with but my stand looks really large and could easily fit a much larger tv on there!
On the shelves I use one for my dvd recorder, another for a mini hi-fi and its speakers and then the other two shelves have dvds on them and my tv of course stands up on the top of it. The whole unit is really strudy and doesn't feel one bit flimsy although I have quite a lot of weight packed on mine and its easy to dust as well and in is in as good condition as the day it was put up so its robust as well.
I think this looks really nice but it is rather large now for where I want it which is why I'm looking to upgrade mine now to a corner unit to be honest but for the £39.99 it now costs I do think it looks more expensive than what it is, is strurdy and offers good value for money even if it does look a little on the plain side!
