      Advantages

      Disadvantages

fab easy to put together shelf set.

I bought this on half price a few weeks ago as we had just redecorated our landing stairs and hallway and i was looking for something to just hold a few nick nacks to brighten up a dark corner and in all honesty it looks the buisness.
It was simple to put together and has a backing strap to screw it into the wall but to be honest this is so sturdy we didnt even have to do that,it stands just over a metre and half and fits snugly into any corner the shelves are lovely and deep and there is a nice height between them too enough for a tall vase or even a small lamp which was perfect for my hallway as its quite dark at the best of times, a quick polish and shine on the support pole and they look lovely, this is also a part of a set to be used to make a large storage area this being the ajoining corner bit but personally i like it on its own i even bought the darker style to go in my bathroom, definetely do-able for a basic flat packer so have a go p.s this is often in the sales in argos i had the 2 of mine in 2 different sales.

Looks brilliant displaying all my souvenirs from my travels!

Along with the tall bookcase that I bought for all my books (which I wrote about in my last review), I thought I'd buy another bookcase just in case they didn't all fit on. I knew I wouldn't need a whole other bookcase so I decided to get this tall tidy corner bookcase from Argos which would also look great with things like photos and ornaments on. It costs £39.99 which is a very reasonable price for this.

It's packed flat for home assembly and recommends that 2 people are needed to assemble it. However, I managed to put this one together all by myself very easily in about 40 minutes. I'm very proud of myself for this as I don't have a clue about DIY but I actually found this really easy to do and I didn't need any help at all. All the holes are already made in the wood so there's no drilling required and everything fits together simply. The only time a helping hand might be needed is to hold pieces in place while someone else screws the nails in but I managed to balance and line everything up on the floor so that it fit in place. To tell you the truth I just didn't want to ask Alex to help out as he seems to get very frustrated doing DIY and we always end up arguing at the most simplest tasks! It does come with wall fixings so that it can be attached to the wall so it doesn't wobble but mine's on carpet and it's so sturdy that it doesn't wobble or lean at all anyway. That is apart from when my little cousin comes over and shakes the entire thing.

The case is tall and narrow and is square in shape so that it fits in any corner perfectly. It's made of particle board but quite a thick and sturdy board which will hold heavy items and makes me think it will last a long time. It is comprised of two long boards which stand at the sides and leave a gap at the back, as in the picture above. There are then 5 shelves which fit inside the outside boards and a long silver metal pole which then holds the entire thing together and provides support as well as giving it a stylish finishing touch.

The measurements are 163cm height, 56.7cm width and 50cm depth so it snuggles nicely into any corner without jutting out into the room. Considering it's called 'tall' bookcase, I would have thought it would have been a bit taller and I actually think it's a little on the short side for a bookcase. It's around the same height as me which means that I can easily put things on the top shelf and it still looks great though. It has a beech effect finish so it matches with the rest of the beech furniture in our house and has a very smooth and shiny surface which looks very modern and stylish.

The only problem with this is that it's not actually that great for holding books. Because it's a corner case and has gaps at the back, there's nowhere for the books to actually rest so, unless you get bookends or are putting larger books on it, all the books are just going to keep falling over and off the shelf. It was lucky that most of my books fitted onto my main bookcase so I only ended up having a few left over to go on here, but this case is really better for other bits and bobs rather than books. I've put photos, flower vases and ornaments that I've collected from my travels on it and it looks lovely filled with these. There's quite a bit of space on every shelf but the good thing about this is that you don't want to load it up with stuff so it manages to make it all look very neat and tidy.

This is a lovely addition to any house which fits perfectly into any empty corner and doesn't take up any space at all. It looks very modern and stylish and looks great filled with photos and ornaments. I love it!
