      Superb TV stand!

Purchased this Argos TV stand for a very reasonable £21.99 about 10 months ago for my bedroom. I don't have a particularly high bed so it took me a while to find a TV stand that was an appropriate height to go at the foot of the bed. This stand fitted the bill perfectly in terms of dimensions and price. It's height is approximately 38cm, it is wide enough for pretty much any size TV even thought he instructions say it only fits up to a 32" screen. I have a 37" TV which fits comfortably on it, it can take anything up to 50kg. I also have dvds and a Playstation 3 on the shelves below which measure approximately 16cm each. The stand weighs a tad under 15kg so was easy to transfer to the car and into my bedroom in its flat pack. There are surprisingly few parts to the TV stand which makes it very simple to assemble on your own. The manual is clear and concise with every part of the stand clearly labelled to prevent confusion. This has now moved into the Argos value range and is the larger of two TV stands they do in that range, this choice was not there when I purchased. This is also available in Beech effect now. The materials are fairly decent quality, similar to much of the Argos value range if you have tried any other products. The stand seems sturdy and durable, not much can go wrong with it considering the simplicity of its design and set up. Overall its a very competitively priced TV stand that has a generous amount of room for the cheap price. It will be ideal as long as you don't have more than 2 "machines" (console, sky, set top box, dvd players etc) for the shelves and don't plan of placing a whole heap of dvds on the shelves as well. It is built to last and a brilliant choice for students or home owners. 5 star TV stand!

      a great value range product

I purchased this during my student years. Being a student money wasn't in great abundance so this value range TV stand seemed ideal at a reasonable cost of £29.99. As I had an oak coffee table in my living room I wanted something that would match. Picking this up from the store I had no problem carrying the package as it was flat packed and not too heavy. Taking it out the box back at home, I firstly checked to make sure all the relevant pieces were there such as screws, glue and all parts of the stand. A family member assembled the product for me. This seemed to be relatively straightforward for them with the help of the instruction leaflet. It took them around 20 minutes. I was pleased with the look of the stand when I saw it built. The colour of it was nice and matched that of my coffee table and it had a nice finish to it. I left it for a while to ensure the glue had dried. Afterward the stand seemed very sturdy, no wobbles. I put this in the corner of my living room and placed my 32in LCD TV on top. It looks really great. This product has two shelves. The height between these is 16cm. I have my DVD player on one and store the DVD's on the other. They are a decent width as my DVD player fits very neatly. This stand is suitable for TV's up to 32in even the old CRT type TV'S. 50kg is the maximum TV weight for this stand. This has been a really good product for me. I think its great value for money as it looks more expensive than it actually was and it's done the job well.

overall recommended for kitting out first home or for kids room

We bought this when we moved into our new flat, and it fits perfectly with our TV and game stations in it. It comes in a small box and is lightweight to carry, on opening the box you get 5 wooden slabs, and only takes one person to assemble it. We didn't encounter any problems in setting it up at all, you don't need to put any nails into it as it all comes together perfectly. When standing, it stands at 38-40cm and is a lot more compact than it looks, There is a nice space of 16cm between the frame and the shelving, which means evidentially you can stack things up on the shelf. We have a PS3 on the shelf which fits in perfectly and leaves just enough room for the controller to sit beside it. On the bottom we have a XBOX Live, again you can put the controller next to it and it fits perfectly. Our 22 inch TV sits on the top and leaves a little room at the front to put anything on, but at the back you can put all the leads and TV cables on it, and it keeps it looking tidy. The overall look is very nice, it is a light color so it fits well into any room and is great to put into a corner like we have done. On the bottom of the TV stand, you can see it sticks out slightly either side, for us this is great because we can put our TV remotes on them and it too keeps them looking nice and tidy. The product does not stick out into the room and looks nicely compact, yet holds so much and is very sturdy. It does not move side to side as if it was going to break and keeps everything neat.

A reasonably priced TV stand from the Argos Value range.

As we always had our television on a large desk which we didn't bring when we moved house we ended up looking for a TV stand. This TV stand, currently £30.63, was available for just £9.99 so we promptly reserved one and collected it in our nearest Argos store. The TV stand comes packaged in a cardboard box with five pieces of wood, screws, screw covers, glue & instructions all provided within the box. The instructions are clear and concise and it took around 15 minutes to put together the TV stand and then it was just a case of waiting for any glue to dry before we could place our TV, Xbox and other bits on the stand. The stand itself is made from thin wood which has the 'oak' style to it that quite a few Argos items come in. This is fantastic as it means you can kit out your bedroom, lounge or wherever you like and the furniture will all be matching and look stylish and coordinated. Once the stand is built it is fairly sturdy and we have comfortable stood a 28" TV on the top shelf as well as an Xbox on the middle shelf and lots of Xbox games on the bottom shelf. On closer inspection I can see that the top shelf has begun to sag just a little in the middle but this is probably because the TV only has a small stand and therefore the weight is not evenly distributed across the whole table. It could also be because the thickness of the materials is not fantastic but then for the £9.99 that we paid I'm not going to be too fussed if I have to get a replacement after a year or two. Overall we were very impressed with the quality of this TV stand for the very small price paid. It's quite nice to look at and the screw covers and peel off 'a, b, c' stickers mean it's very easy to build this and have it looking quite nice. The only downside is that the inside screws don't come with covers on them so if you look closely you can see the exposed screws but then I could buy some covers myself cheaply if I was that bothered about it. The size of this TV stand is 38cm (Height) x 90cm (Width) x 40cm (Depth) which is perfectly ample for a 28" TV which just slightly overhangs the edge when turned at a slight angle. Therefore, if you are wanting this for a large slimline TV I would advise you to try something else as this is more suited for a smaller TV, perhaps in a spare room or study or if you just have a standard sized TV in your lounge rather than a mammoth 40" then this will be fine for you.
