I didn't have any kind of table in my lounge when I first moved in, there were more important things at the time and everybody just used the floor to place anything like cups on. Then when my daughter came along I realised when I fed her I needed a table to keep the bottle in reach after burping etc. Funds were tight at this point so I just went for a cheap end table to tie me over until I had enough money for a nest of tables. The end table I ended up purchasing was this Verona end table from Argos. It cost me around £7 about two and a half years ago. It's still available to purchase now for £9.99. The table came flat packed but putting it together was a doddle, it literally took a couple of minutes. Although there are instructions included in the box they really aren't need. The four table legs simply slot though the holes in the table top and line them up with the four feet that the legs screw in and simply screw them together, then slot four round covers on the top of the legs. Voila, you have an end table! The table is very cheap looking, the table legs are made from a silver plastic and look very basic. The covers that are placed on top of the legs are curved and stick out of the top of the table a couple of cm so placing a cup, or something along those lines, on top of the cover isn't possible but that has never been too big of a deal for me. The beech wood doesn't look too bad, the top and shelf at the bottom are both made from this wood and is around half an inch big so it isn't too flimsy. The table did a good job of being somewhere to place a cup or a bottle when I needed too. This was great until my daughter got a little older and started exploring. She attempted to climb up the table and as the table legs are so flimsy, the table kind of shifted. This meant that every time something was placed on the table top, it kind of moved, like the legs couldn't hold the top in one place. After this I made sure my daughter didn't go near the table again but I still used it, I think using it like normal made it worse and eventually one of the legs snapped at the bottom near the join to the foot it was screwed into. After the table leg broke I moved the table from the lounge to my bedroom and used a little bit of duct tape to keep the leg in place and I still, now use the table as a bedside table in my bedroom. It holds a lamp and my alarm clock without any problem and because it isn't always having more stuff put on or taken off of it the quality hasn't been compromised anymore. I think these end tables are more appropriate being used as bedside tables, there is enough room on the bottom shelf for magazines or books and without a lot of shifting pressure, I think the legs wouldn't snap like we experienced in the lounge. I wouldn't recommend this end table purely on the fact that the leg snapped on me. The quality isn't that great, and the top isn't completely flat. I think one of the only plus points is the super easy assembly. I know the table was cheap but I was expecting something a little more practical.
I moved into my flat about 2 and a half years ago and used Argos' Verona glass furniture to furnish my living room and have been really impressed with quality and look of the purchases I made so following on from this I was recently in need of expanding my storage within my bedroom and once again opted for using Argos' Verona range following my discovery of their beech offerings. My flat is fairly small and with myself and my wife living there it does not offer up much in terms of space within the bedroom for anything other than clothes, bed and tv so when I was re-designing the layout I spotted the Verona end tables and decided to pick up a couple of these to allow my wife some space for her make up, hair products, contact lenses and more. The tables themselves are very good with ample space available on them for all of the make up and things my wife uses on a daily basis when getting ready and thanks to the fact they take up only a small amount of space I have placed the main one she used just beside the mirror to allow her to get ready easily and quickly. Puting these end tables together is extremely simple, quick and needs no tools so these really are perfect if you are looking to pick up some new furniture and have it all put together the same day (not like some pieces where you have a huge instruction booklet out and the furniture half built for a few days). The items are lightweight so easy to move around and are well made so can hold a decent weight on them making them a really durable piece of furniture. So why opt for the Verona furniture? Well the pieces are all excellently made and look brilliant. They are quick to assemble and all offer great value with the end tables only costing £8.99 each so that you can improve your room without making yourself bankrupt. Positives: - Excellent value for money - Well made furniture - Good looking pieces - Quick, easy assembly with no need for tools - Can hold a decent weight Negatives: - None These are excellent pieces that offer up a great opportunity to update your room look without breaking the bank.
