Advantages: cheap

Disadvantages: watery and doesnt cover well

B&Q value emulsion matt paint is definatley value for money in terms of the quantity of paint you get for the price of the tub but it does not cover well.

We used this when we decorated our livingroom last and thought it was great value for money especially after we had painted the ceiling and it seemed to have covered very well despite being watery but this was in artificial light late on the evening.

When we got up the next morning and looked at the ceiling it was a right mess. The paint hadnt coverd well at all despite it only having been 12 months since we painted it last. The paint was very patchy and needed a second coat, after applying the second coat it did look a lot better but to achieve a perfect finish you will need 3 coats.

3 coats of this paint are needed instead of 1 coat of decent paint so unless it it 3 times cheaper than the other paint dont bother buying it.

Summary: i would not buy this again

We used this for our room and it is not too bad but if the room gets too warm the paint odour is given out so will never buy cheap again.

It can depend largely on what the ceiling was painted with beforehand.
