Advantages: Reasonable Price
Disadvantages: Poor fitting and service
We've had a real nightmare with Belgam Kitchens. We looked at lots of online reviews for fitted kitchens and Belgam seemed to come out well. However, we strongly advise you not to use them.
At time of writing it's 7 months later and Belgam still haven't finished our fitted kitchen. The cupboard they built to house the boiler had to be broken by the boiler manufacturer to access it when it needed a repair. The washing machine can't be repaired because it's been wedged in under the counter with a large piece of wood rather than set on legs. So we've been using the launderette. The sink doesn't work either. A sink only needs to be able to keep water in it but it doesn't even manage that.
We'd planned to have everything done a long time in advance of having our first baby. As it is, the baby is due any time now and we have no washing machine, broken cupboards and a sink that leaks.
Belgam Kitchens tell us one thing but then do another, or, more commonly, don't do anything at all. We're currently trying to get our money back from them. We strongly advise you to try another company.
Summary: Find another company

- 12/10/09 We too had our new kitchen fitted by Belgam..also before the arrival of our second child...my bump was barely showing when work commenced but I recall phoning them up with the new addition cradeled in my arms. I had to walk away from these guys as it was really stresful. They hadn't even put a pea trap on the kitchen sink so the smell from the drains just vented into the kitchen- not a pleasent environment for a new born, also the Granite work top we orded was fitted but when we came home it was not the correct type of granite - the oven door smashed due to the heat of the oven whilst I was cooking my babies meal!! good job we were not in the kitchen at the time as we would have been covered with Glass - Belgam did not take any responsibility for this - even though it was within 1 month of being fitted! We had to go direct to the manufacturer. This is just a few of the problems..I've had to block it out of my mind as you really don't need that kind of stress whilst being pregnant or with a new born. Now just waiting for my hubby to finish it off!...think I need DIY SOS! |

- 15/04/09 Thanks for the welcome. Sorry to start on such a downer. It's making me and my wife really unhappy. The last thing you need when having a baby. |
