All round a brilliant toy box that lasts well, is easily cleaned and very colourful.

I purchased this toy box for my son when he was around 6 months as his small toys and rattles were beginning to to take over the house.

I bought it from Argos and it cost £44.99 or thereabouts but as you can see from above it is cheaper now, it was around a year and a half almost 2 that I got it so seems a fair price.

Anyway it comes flat packed with instructions and is very easily put together even by myself (yes, a female!) and I don't think I needed any additional tools, if I did it would only have been a simple screwdriver so 10/10 for that aspect.

It's very bright and colourful, easily catching a childs eye, my little one is almost 2 and a half and still loves this box, he loves sitting on it saying choo choo!

It is split into 2 seperate sections and each is large enough to hold a decent amount of toys although bigger ones such as the early learning centre, rocket, pirate ship etc was much too large. Rattles, cars, building blocks, books all fit in very easily. The lids are easy to open, my son was able to open it from when he was crawling over so around 10 months. It has to be pushed closed again which makes it safe for little fingers, I have never seen my son get his fingers trapped or caught so again a definate good feature.

It's so simple to clean, a quick wipe over is all it needs, no scrubbing or fancy products needed just a cloth and hot water and a squirt of dettol to rid it of bacteria.

As I said the box is 18months old at least and it's still in excellent condition, no marks/scuffs/scratches or any other visable damage this is not due to being careful with it though, my son regularly rammed it when he was in his baby walker, it has been hit, things thrown at it, sat on and played with a lot and is still in like new condition.

This is an excellent buy for money and I would highly recommend it.

A nice way to keep the room tidy.

We have recently bought a fair number of items to make organization a bit easier, as we already have too many toys and with Christmas coming will soon have even more. I choose this because it looks really nice next to my sons Thomas Desk and fits in well with what is turning into a train room. For the most part, I prefer to have a proper place things for this box is for everything - basically anything left. on floor can be quickly stashed away once again leaving the room decent looking.

Our box is the exact same paint design as our desk a cheerful blue and yellow, and like the desk, the paint seems made to withstand frequent scrubbing. There are a few different designs available. If you already have Thomas furniture, it is worth shopping about for a good match, but I must say I prefer this one as I think the full sized picture of Thomas on the ends is one of the best parts of this box. This has two compartments for toys and two wee seats so the children could sit on this if they chose too, but my sons do not. They do however, use it to stand on so they can reach a Thomas the Tank chalkboard/ whiteboard which hangs on the wall above this. This box is easily able to support the weight of both boys standing together, and like the desk, seems to be of an exceptionally sturdy build. I do appreciate children's furniture that is made to last. Although the lids are light and I do not think would pose a danger to little fingers, they are fitted with a safety mechanism in the hinges. This means that when you drop the lid, it does not slam shut, but very slowly lowers itself down. I have read one review complaining that this did not close completely, and I have found that if anything is in the way, it will not shut. This does happen at times, but you can just push the lid down by hand. I found that these hold quite a lot of toys, although obviously it will not hold very long items like board games.

The dimensions for this item are as follows:
        Height 56cm
        Length 79cm
        Width 36cm
        Seat Height: 28cm

My boys are ages 5 and 2, and both were well pleased when we bought this. In fact we did not put toys into it for a few days as they wanted to sit in the boxes and pretend to be a train. The two year old can do this very comfortably, but the five year old was very cramped and could not stay in too long. I think any young Thomas fan would be very happy to have this. For those of you who are not as fond of Thomas though, there are several similar boxes by the same company with different designs, such as Bob the Builder or Peppa Pig. I really like it myself as it it a very nice looking item, easy to clean, strong and well made, and keeps all the toys off the floor. I am happy to give this toy box five stars and am happy to suggest this or a similar model with another design for all of us who will once again be re arranging the house to make room for more toys next week.
