A great unit for any room that gives useful storage space

When I purchased the Boston Basic Modular Units for my house when we first moved in we bought 3 in total, we ended up using 2 in our lounge and one in our bedroom, the one which we used in our bedroom was the Boston Basic Modular Box 2 Door, we felt that it didn't really go in our lounge but we needed to extra storage space in our room so thought this would be ideal, it gave us extra storage but without taking up too much space in the room.

As with all of the other Boston Basic Modular Units this one also came in plain cardboard packaging with the name of the product on it, there was nothing fancy about it, but it did serve the purpose of protecting the unit inside. There was no other packaging inside the main box, however the box was just a little bigger than the unit so that it couldn't move around too much inside causing damage.
The only other packaging was a small clear plastic bag containing all of the screws and fixings needed to put the unit together.

The Boston Basic Modular Unit 2 Door is basically a small cupboard, it is the same square shape as the other units in this range allowing them to be stacked on top of each other should you wish to create the effect of a larger unit. This unit consists of an outer frame with 2 rectangle doors on the front of it, inside the cupboard is a shelf this is adjustable so you can fit it where you like inside the cupboard however we have ours going across the middle, the shelf is quite thin but at the same time is reasonably strong.

The two doors have a small round silver door knob each which allow you to easily pull the doors open when required, the doors are held shut by a small magnet on each one situated just inside at the top, these magnets are not so strong that you really have to pull the doors to open them but they are strong enough to hold them shut and stop the doors from swinging open.

We also use the top of our cupboard as display space as we do not have another unit stacked on top of it which gives us additional shelf space in our bedroom. This unit as with the others in the range comes in 2 colours beech and oak, we went for the beech one so that it matched the other units we bought, this also went with the colour of our bedroom furniture. The size of this unit is the same as the others in this range, it measures 60cm (H) x 60cm (W) x 29.9cm (W) for us this was an ideal size as it gave us enough storage space for what we needed but didn't take up a lot of room in our bedroom.

As I have mentioned the Boston Basic Modular Unit 2 Door comes flat packed, it is recommended that 2 people assemble the unit, personally I have to agree as whilst the unit is big or heavy to hold it can be a bit difficult to hold the pieces together and screw in the screws at the same time, especially when building the other frame which can be a bit wobbly until the back and doors are in place.

The instructions are pretty standard for this type of product and include a few instructions and mainly diagrams, they are about as clear as flat pack furniture instructions get, but as the unit is not exactly difficult to put together you could get away without using them, it really didn't take us long to build the unit at all, I would say probably about 20 to 30 minutes at the most so it really isn't time consuming at all.

We purchased our Boston Basic Modular Unit 2 Door from Argos, it is currently being sold for £29.99, when we bought ours it was a little cheaper than this. I do think it is a bit on the expensive side but it is strong and sturdy so I wouldn't mind to much paying this amount for it, also when we bought our units in this range they were on offer at the time.

Overall we have been extremely pleased with our Boston Basic Modular Unit 2 Door, it is well made and so far proving to be long lasting, it looks as good as new. It is of a reasonable size giving us plenty of storage space in our bedroom, this unit would be ideal to use in pretty much any room including a child's bedroom where you could easily store books or toys in it.

This unit is the most expensive of the range and I do think it could be a little cheaper but I would be happy to pay out for the unit at this price as it is of an excellent quality. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone especially if you are a bit limited on space but need some extra storage, I would definitely consider purchasing this unit again in the future should we require another one.
