We ordered a mattress from Dreams Letchworth store on a Sunday, for agreed delivery the next Thurs. We told them we MUST have it as guests were arriving. It was a stock item and we paid cash & they said no problem for delivery. 2 days before delivery, they called to say it wasn't actually "in stock, but they were expecting it in stock the following week". Surely something is in stock or not? They are trying to charge me 20% of the cost (£1250) to cancel an order they could not deliver. We want our money back, but they won't give it to us. Customer services - useless and don't care! It's impossible to speak to a manager. We still don't have a mattress and had to spend another £130 on a blow up bed for our Guests. DON'T SHOP HERE. DON'T give them your money! DON'T believe what you are told in store! DO read the Terms & conditions on the order. It will be enough to put you off!! DO shop anywhere but this chain of stores!

Summary: I'll never set foot in this chain of shops again!

It's not just us then. We ordered our bed in mid-September and were informed that the bed would be ready for delivery on 20th October. This quickly changed to the 27th October, but I was ok with this. We called one week before delivery was due to confirm that everything was ok, as we had to dismantle and dispose of our bed as we were having new carpet fitted. This was confirmed by "Customer Services", so we went ahead with our plans only to be called 24h before supposed delivery that the bed was out of stock and would not be delivered until 24th November (one month with no bed, not happy!). We spoke to the Warehouse team, then the store, who both absolved themselves of any responsibility and told us to contact "Customer Services". They were no help, but I managed to get to the Customer Excellence team who offered some compensation offers, but this would still mean no bed for a month (unless it was "in stock"). I just wanted to get away as quickly as possible, so asked for a full refund at which point they told me that they would be deducting the cost of £14 for the "complimentary" pillows that were given with the order. I concur with all of your comments and will be writing to the MD (they would not give me the title of the head of customer services) to see if they understand the rubbish service that is provided.

I urge you never to use this company, as I went to our local bed store and got almost the same bed for £250 cheaper and it will be with me in one week.
