We have a very small bathroom and wanted to make the best of the space with a new bathroom with showerbath etc. I had not done any research on the net and knew nothing about the bad reputation and poor sales tatics adopted by the Dolphin sales representatives. But having just gone though the experience I can say all the poor press and bad reviews on the internet are totally true.

First of all the sales rep tried find out what our maximum budget was for the job. So he could adjust his sales pitch accordingly. Then after 2 hours of measuring up, getting the history of dolphin, why they are the best in the business and the explanation of the multiple years of experience of the sales rep himself. We were finally quoted a price of £17,500 for a box room bathroom. BUT it didnt finish there because we were very lucky, there was a 50% discount which was a one time offer as long as we signed on the dotted line at this meeting.

I could go on for pages explaining the shabby sales techniques he used in trying to get us to agree to the deal. It was something straight out of BBC's watchdog or roge traders.

In the end his final offer was £8500 for a bathroom I have subsequently costed to be worth no more than £3500 including fitting.

My advise to anyone looking for a new bathroom is not go near this company. Or if you do asked for an itemised quotation and get some other quotes for comparision. Also importantly do not pay the full amount until the job is completed. Dolphin insist on payment with delivery of the bathroom , it could be weeks after this delivery that the bathroom is finished. However I suspect if you ask for these terms and conditions, Dolphin will not be interested in your business.

Summary: Dolphins Sales Techniques are not based on product pricing but in getting as much money as possible

I think you will find that Dolphin Bathrooms Claims to be the UK's market leader in fitted bathrooms. It is part of the HomeForm Group, along with Sharps Bedrooms, Moben Kitchens and Kitchens Direct. I believe they use the same techniques and I believe have similar price structures. As in double the price you want and hope you get it. The UK is rife with companies using fraudulent and unethical sales techniques. See my revues and you'll no what I mean.
