Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: TOO MANT TO LIST HERE
I have been a fitter for Dolphin Bathrooms in the past, fitting over 80 bathroom suites for them and I totally agree 110% with the other poor reviews on this forum and can confirm they are the worst company I have ever worked for.
With regards to the sales process a 'sales man' will call and start off with a ridiculous price of around 22k and then work their way down to the region of 16-10k just to make it look like they are giving you a huge discount! Their bathroom suites however are only worth around 2k and that is with everything included (suite, tiles, lights, accessories etc). For example, the 'snaplight' recessed spotlight they supply will cost you £18.00 per unit if you go to 'snaplight' direct. Dolphin will charge the customer around £90.00 per unit!!
Because Dolphin have the buying power to purchase large quantities of bathroom ware, they can put their own 'Dolphin Bathrooms' name on these products but believe me they are all the cheapest of the cheap 'Ideal Standard' brand that you can buy from B & Q for pennies and some of their tiles are even supplied by B & Q!!
Most of the sanitary ware I have fitted for them is of very poor quality/fit and 8 out of 10 times toilets and baths leak due to manufacturing defects. Nearly on every fit, an item or items have to be sent back due to damage on delivery. This is very annoying for the fitter and customer as this usually delays the job and delays the fitter being paid.
With regards to the poor quality fitters Dolphin have working for them, I agree some fitting teams really are clueless and this is their first career change since taxi driving, stacking shelves in Tesco's etc. This is partly to blame for there being a badly planned recruitment process and 'micky mouse' assessment test that even a 5 year old child could pass!
Dolphin Bathrooms have so many jobs go wrong, they even have their own full time remedial teams that go round repairing and sometimes even ripping the whole job out and starting again. The funny thing is that the people they get to do this usually make a mess of the job again and this process just goes on and on. The surveyors Dolphin have working for them really don't have much of a clue and when the fitters turn up to a job, they find it impossible to do the work in the way the clueless surveyor has stated thus leading to the job having to be re-surveyed and the customer waiting weeks to get the job started.
As you all will have heard, Dolphin Customer Service is BAD! And believe me it really is BAD! This is not only to the customer you must understand. They treat the fitters as shockingly as they do their customers with rudeness and arrogance. This makes working moral very bad and I do not know one fitter that is not owed money from Dolphin at any given time. They are very bad payers to their fitters and do not put fitters payments through on time once a job has been completed. From a customer's point of view, they are only interested in taking your money and when something goes wrong, believe me you are on your own!
I hope you have found this information useful and carefully consider what could happen if you use Dolphin Bathrooms. With the way they treat their customers and the amount or remedial work they have to do, they can only go one way from here... Down!!
Summary: VERY POOR
