My ideal house would be ultra modern. It would have a really modern exterior design to start off with as well as a large garden, that isn't crammed full of plants and trees. I would also like some kind of summer house/green house.

For a lounge, I love the modern furniture you can buy nowadays. Preferably leather as it looks the best, but it can cost a lot of money. I think that the key to a lovely modern lounge and house in general is to keep it simple. Don't cram things onto shelves such as photos of your friends and family along with your old teacups, as this just makes it messy and unattractive in my opinion!

A nice kitchen will have many smooth marble surfaces with a lot of place to work. You can get great fitted kitchens from people like Moben. For bedrooms, I think 'Complete Fitted Bedrooms' do the very best jobs and we have used them several times before. One piece of furniture I am fond of is a beanbag. You can sit back and relax in them and they are very comfortable. Another favourite furniture piece for me has to be a Lava Lamp. You can buy them anywhere today from John Lewis to the Gadget Shop. They are very modern, fun to watch and give off light; however they are expensive to run.

My ideal dining room would most probably run into my kitchen or lounge. I would want a modern glass top table with upright and comfortable chairs. You can get all these things for great prices at places like Ikea. They really aren't that bad at all. You may have to DIY but the things they sell look good and are comfortable and satisfactory for the job they do. I would recommend Ikea to anyone and they are pretty cheap too.

So that's about it for my ideal house. It would all be modern but it doesn't have to be expensive! If I am a millionaire one day, then maybe I'll have an amazing house with all designer furniture, but I think Ikea sells some great modern things at good prices, which are of reasonable quality!

Thanks for reading,

Summary: I would want modern furniture everywhere and it can be bought cheaply but of good quality from Ikea

This category is really for articles exisiting in the home, Recon, not a fantasy / future idea which you have in mind.

And of the reasons you list, they are quite ambiguous. Not all leather suites are expensive, especially with the offers these days, but they can be expensive to maintain if they get ripped and not all are water proof if accidents like a spilt cup of tea should occur.

Marble is a porous material and can therefore be ruined over a short period of time. Again real experience of owning this stone work would benefit.

As for the bean bag; they are suitable for some people, but not always the most comfortable and regardless of the exterior lining, beans used are usually never fire retardant and the Lava lamp you mention is also a fire hazard. Ive owned two and whilst I loved having them, I was waened beforehand that they were both potential hazards.

This is a good review but I cant but help and feel its in the wrong category. By all means add details which you presently own but a little more research into what you have stated reveals realistic pros and cons.
