This is a stylish brown faux leather bean bag; it differs from other bean bags with its high backrest that provides fantastic back, neck and head support. It is light weight and an adequate size for any living room. It has a couple of zips that allow you to replenish the filling or take some out. The stitching is of a high quality and the faux leather is soft yet tough enough for the job and is easily wipe clean.
I bought it as a cheap alternative to a chair expecting it to either split or lose its shape within a month, it's been two years now and it is still going strong. The faux leather is still in good condition and the filling is still very supportive. I haven't needed to change the filling yet and probably won't for some time. Considering my dog thinks she owns it and my Niece uses it as a punch bag I think it has done really well.
When I manage to fight my dog and my Niece off it I use it for my PlayStation, watching TV, reading and using my laptop. I find the back rest is very supportive and I can easily position myself so I do not slouch over my laptop like I tend to do on a sofa. All I just need is a foot rest and I doubt I would ever move again. I like to take it out onto the patio in the summer, I wouldn't recommend this if you want it to look good on the base but I didn't buy it just to look at.
It isn't as large as you expect it to be when you order it but I am 6ft 4" and I love collapsing into it, my only problem is getting out of it (entertainment for the whole family). I wouldn't recommend this for the elderly and people with bad backs because of this, shame as it takes the pressure of your back. It takes a bit of adjusting to get it into the right position for you but this is all forgotten when you sit down; just remember to put your beverage within reaching distance!
I believe you can pick one of these up for £40 nowadays so if you require an extra chair it is a steal, just be prepared for a fight with friends, children and animals.
My husband occasionally enjoys a gaming session on his Xbox 360 and desired more comfort, a closer location to the screen and something that looked adult enough to be acceptable in the corner of the lounge. He went on Amazon and this was his solution, it's the Hi-BagZ faux leather gaming bean bag, the one we purchased is brown, it also comes in black, red and blue and cost £39.99 + £8.00 postage from www.amazon.co.uk.
The Gaming Bean chair is described as suitable for medium sized adults, I thought that was a pretty sketchy description and was a bit worried as to whether it would be large enough to fit my husband comfortably, who classes himself as larger than average (6ft - 16 stone) but there were no worries in that department my husband can snuggle his butt into it comfortably. The product description also says to allow 1m square floor space for this to sit comfortably and I would agree with this, the bean chair does need that amount of space and some to spread out comfortably.
The faux leather finish is of a high quality and the stitching of the panels is very strong and secure, my kids regularly drop on it from standing and it's not popped or split so I'm confident that we will get lots of wear out of this. The zip is well concealed and secure, the bean bag is double zipped meaning that inside the first zip is a pull out pocket with a second zip which gives you access to the beans, this makes the beans more secure and less likely to be liberated by little people. The bean bag is filled with virgin eps poly beans, after a quick look on the internet I can reliably say that these are the same sort of beans that can be used in cavity wall insulation and can be mixed with concrete for a more thermal and lighter concrete (you learn something new every day) the beans are fire retardant which is reassuring to know.
Having already had experience with bean bags I know that the beans will seem to squash over time and the bean bag will require a top up of beans, I'm not worried though as these can be brought form Wilkinson's or a haberdashery for relatively little cost.
What makes this a gaming bean bag is the fact that it has a high back, this is formed by an extra bit of material protruding from the top that when you sit on the bean bag the beans fill this extra bit and give extra support to your back.
The bean bag is extremely comfortable and once you've wiggled your bottom into it you really won't want to get back up. The kids love this bean chair and can often be found in it reading a book or watching TV it's also handy when we have a lot of visitors and seating is at a premium.
My husband loves this seat also and finds it very comfortable for gaming, no more numb bum from the floor or achy back from leaning forward on the settee for a better view. The bean chair gives my husband who is a casual gamer all the support he needs and gives an ideal seating position in front of the TV without blocking everyone else's view of the action.
I also enjoy sitting in the bean bag as it is the ideal snugly place to sit with a hot cup of tea and a good book on a cold windy day as the beans do have a thermal effect and keep you warm.
The picture on the web site does make the bean bag look like a chair, so when I got it out of the box and it looked more like a blob I did feel a bit ripped off, but some shuffling of the beans does give this bean bag a nice chair shape.
Overall I recommend this product its ideal for casual gamers and its adult colour and style makes it ok to have in the corner of the lounge and when I've saved enough Amazon vouchers up I will be purchasing another one for my son to have in the other lounge on his Xbox.
I give it 5 out of 5.
