      nice piece of furniture

      I have this item of ikea furniture and I am extremely pleased with it. The drawer size is about the size of on A2 page, and as I do architecture, this is the perfect size to keep all of art and design items hidden away in my room.
      This piece of furniture is very well designed as it has wheels at the bottom which means that you can very easily move it around your room. This is perfect for the ladies of the house, because I find it difficult to move furniture around but because of the wheels it is no longer a task.
      Additionally, I think that it looks much nicer with handles which means that it takes up less space.
      I initially thought that the white colour would mean that this item would get dirty quickly but because of the finish it is very easy to wipe down and waterproof.
      I am very pleased with how this is made and the finish.
      I would like to mention though that it is quite tricky putting it together.

      Style and good build quality at a reasonable price

      Generally being previously impressed with Ikea furniture I wanted to travel down to my nearest store (about an hour travel) to check out some drawer units. I have a lot of computer gear and a big inkjet printer and wanted something more substantial than the Argos bookcases and cabinets.

      The Ikea Alex drawer unit fitted my requirements perfectly and is reasonably priced at £75. The exact measurements are below. Unpacking and putting together the unit is very easy (about 40 minutes) and the finish is superb. The white surface is laminated, in a matte finish. It is wipe clean too, so any marks easily come off. There are six drawers which open and close along metal runners very smoothly. The bottom three are deeper, with the top three drawers being half the height.

      I use this unit for my inkjet printer, which is an Epson R1800 inkjet and it fits the whole width almost exactly. The drawers accept A2 sized paper, so I store all of my inkjet papers neatly in here. Some of the drawers I use for other sized paper and accessories, and it is worth noting that the Alex unit has a fantastic capacity. So all of my supplies are out of sight. I was also surprised with the weight of the paper that each drawer takes without bowing.

      Measurements are as follows;
      Width: 67 cm
      Depth: 48 cm
      Height: 66 cm

      If you want something for the office that looks modern, is good quality and performs well, then check this out.
