I've recently moved house and find myself with a lovely big bedroom with wooden floors and white walls. It's all rather minimalist - but very stylish too! But I did want a rug for the floor, especially in the winter months with the wooden floor can feel a little cold underfoot - especially first thing in the morning. Brrrr!

I felt I had two options. One was to opt for something really bright and colourful to brighten up the room, and the second option was to stick with the minimalist theme and go for something more neutral. And as you can see from the picture above, I plumped for option two. I was sure that if I bought a brighter rug I would soon get sick of it, so I've decided to add a splash of colour to my room with pictures instead.

Another important factor for me was the price, and this is where the rug really stood out! Under £20 for a rug of this size (195cm x 133cm) is fantastic.

The rug came rolled up in plastic, so we did have to place some heavy books on the corners to help straighten it out. Not a big problem though. The main colour is a mid-toned grey, with a bold outline of leaves and flowers depicted in white.

It's quite a modern design and it really suits our minimalist room. It's striking looking and goes perfectly with our white walls and wooden floors - yet it does make the room cosier too. The rug feels nice and soft underfoot and really very good quality for the low price. It does the job we wanted it to perfectly and we're very happy with the purchase.

However, I wouldn't' recommend this rug for a room where there will be a lot of footfall as I'm not sure if it would stand the test of time. But for a bedroom it is really a great buy.
