Ikea Krabb Mirror
Advantages: good design
Living in Leeds I am very lucky to have Ikea on my doorstep. I go there regularly as their products are cheap and good quality. We bought these mirrors for the spare room as it was slightly too dark and mirrors always help open rooms up a bit more. I liked the wavy design and I think they look great up. You can buy as many of these as you want and create wild and interesting designs. We use the mirrors as a piece of art and help get more light into the bedroom.
==Price and availability==
These are available from Ikea for £10.00. For this you get two mirrors that are around 160 cm tall and they have the wavy design.
The mirrors are around 20 cm wide and can be hung up vertically or horizontal. They are 160 cm in length and have 6 waves in them. These add a really fun, contemporised look to the mirror. When you buy them they come wrapped in cellophane with a cardboard backing; there is not much protection and we noticed that quite a few of them at Ikea had their corners snapped so just check them before you buy to make sure they are in perfect condition. We bought four packets so we have them running along the back wall of the room in an attempt to make a feature of them. They are very thin but once you hang them up safely they should be fine and free from the danger of being broken. The mirrors do not give you a distorted fairground image but an accurate view of yourself. They are good quality and easy to hand with a picture hanging kit.
I think that these are superb and really good value for money. I can imagine them looking good in a bathroom as the waves could be seen to represent the sea if you were having a maritime theme. They can be used in high humidity areas so they are perfect for the bathroom. I like the way that you can have them vertical or horizontal and it gives you the freedom to personalise your rooms and have them how you want. The mirrors do not have a frame so they can blend into any colour scheme and add an interesting look to any room. As with any mirror they are a haven for finger prints and dust but they polish up lovely with a squirt of windowlene and a dry cloth. I hate having so many mirrors to clean but they look so cool that I think that they are worth it. They bring so much light into the room and it looks like we have a massive open space. I am really impressed with these and for five pounds per mirror you just cannot complain. At first I was curious as to why they were sold in two packs as I wondered if anyone may want to buy them separately, however after seeing the mirrors up, one would just get lost on a wall. You need two to really make an impact.
Summary: An interesting piece
