If you are a fan of reasonably priced furniture, want something to do for half a day and enjoy the result then do buy these Malm 3 drawer chest of drawers.

I bought these online at Ikea.com and although they took sometime and some expense (£30 with some other items) they were delivered on the correct day and all the parts were there.

It took me a few hours to put together, with the use of a tool kit. The instructions show using a screwdriver and a hammer, you need the hammer to secure the back piece of wood to the rest of the structure. The drawers are put together seperately before you lever them in, and it needs to be rotated several times whilst being put together so you may need two people if you arent too strong.

The instructions are very easy to follow, even for a DIY idiot like me, its all done by pictures with no writing and when put together the drawers feel secure and solid. I have put in mostly clothes into the drawers so I dont know how they would withstand heavier items in them but I would say that this is a bedroom piece of furniture. I have it in white so it is different to the picture here but after moving house and using sellotape and it getting bashed around the white finish has not scratched and this is most impressive!

I think it cost around £60 and you can get different versions with more or less drawers and a matching bed so you could have matching furniture for the bedroom. Its not the most beautiful looking thing but for the price and the ease in which it was put together make it a great choice and I would certainly consider buying another one when I move to a house with more bedrooms.
