Going to Ikea is always an experience as they are huge and are packed with great offers. I have recently moved flat and need some new things to bulk the apartment out. I went to Ikea Coventry, Its a massive complex with 5 floors. You get the show room at the top which is always useful to walk around to get ideas for your rooms. I wanted to find something for my living room to take up some of the space so it didnt look so empty.

Navigating around Ikea is really easy, you see something you want then you get a pencil and paper (located all around the store) and note down then item detials and location it can be found. Once you have noted down everything you want, you go to the storage floor which is like a big warehouse. You look for the isle and location of the item and will find them stacked up. you simply place it on your trolley and head to the tills simple. This was the easy part

I paid around about £15-20 for the item which was flat packed, which ment i had to build it when i got home. Not usually a problem, i usually enjoy a bit of DIY lol. I should have gone for the build in store option.

You get the package home and unpack, you have all the individual parts, screws and fixings and some black and white instructions. You look at the instructions and think thats easy but after half hour of skipping pages and just doing what you think is rite, soon proves to be wrong lol. Note to self - Follow instructions!

fixing together the unit is really simple but I did come across one problem which may seem like my stupid fault but i can bet many others have done then same. I do know of a few.

The unit i got was in white. The internal pieces are white too but one side of them are not painted, I didnt realise this when fitting together, so i fitted it all together and placed some extra nails in the back to stop them coming back out to find that i had a white unit with unpainted internal ends. lol. I know i may have been a little stupid here.

It should say for the simple people like myself to check that the unpainted side goes to the back of the unit and does not show on the front lol.

Apart from this mistake, the unit is strong and sterdy, reasonably easy to build, simple to buy and handle.

I think Ikea units are great for the cost.

I would def recommend and buy again but please learn from my mistakes. lol
