Advantages: Stunning looking mirror, high quality and a perfect reflection :o)
Disadvantages: None for me
The circular mirror measures approximately 50 cm in diameter and it offers a reasonable thickness backing, which is manufactured from a sturdy plastic. Each of the mirrors is hand made, so the design you receive is unique. I love the mosaic pattern of the border, which consists of four rows of square pieces of mirror with the entire border measuring approximately 8½ cm. The glass mirror measures 24 cm and is of a high quality with no signs of deterioration despite the fact that I've owned it for around three years. A problem I have experienced in the past with a few cheaper brands is that patches of mirror will start to mist over a period of time due to the mirror itself being too thin and of a poor quality.
The reflection the mirror offers is simply perfect. Well, I would say that, wouldn't I? On a serious note, the reflection is crisp and clear unlike those cheap mirrors that are often found in public toilets where the reflection is somewhat distorted or misty. Ikea claim the mirror is suitable for using in high humidity areas, but as mine is located in our downstairs cloakrooms, which houses just a toilet and hand basin I cannot comment. However, despite the hot water tap being run for longer periods of time, particularly on those occasions when I am cleaning, I cannot report of the mirror steaming up in any way.
Cleaning the mirror itself is easily carried out by way of glass cleaner and a cloth, but due to the squares of glass having slight gaps between them I need to be careful with the type of cloth I use as otherwise tiny fibres will catch on the edges, which can be a nightmare to remove. Despite owning the mirror for three years and it being regularly cleaned, each of the mosaic tiles is still firmly attached and displays no sign of movement. The mirror is fairly weighty, but is firmly attached to a hook on the wall by way of the hook located on the metal area on the rear. Whilst this is of no concern to me, the reverse of the mirror is a little messy where lines of glue are displayed although I've not got a clue why they are there! On the lower section of the mirror is a circular pad, which is quite thoughtful as it prevents the mirror banging against the wall and creating marks on the décor.
For the cost of just £11 I cannot fault this mirror, which is extremely well made and is perfect for a cloakroom or bathroom as it looks stunning on the wall and creates the perfect finishing touch. For the reasons discussed above, this product receives five stars from me together with my recommendation. Ikea are selling the mirror both online and in store, reference number 19661.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
