Advantages: Smell and quality

Disadvantages: £££££

Finding decent scented candles is a pain, most are too something, too sweet, too unscented, too dear, too quick to disappear.

The best ones that I have found are on the dear side but are worth it. The range by 'Rituals' (www.rituals.com) are large candles housed in a heavy glass liner and come nicely presented in a box. They are quality candles and do last, they come in a range of scents like Fig tree, Tea Time and Green Tea, all of which are beautiful. A Rituals shop has opened near me and while the candles normally cost £14 they are for sale at £9.80 at the moment so would be a good present.

The other ones I found good quality are the candles by Kenneth Turner, they are well scented, come in a glass case and are presented boxed. They smell great and come in a good range like Houthouse flowers, Blue tangerine adn the original fragrance is lovely too. Some of the candles come with a metal lid complete with a bee finial, they are great presents. They are expensive though, £19 each, but my hot tip is to check out TKMaxx where I've seen them for £9.

It's staggering what candles by Jo Malone and Diptyque cost, £35 and up, just try and justify that!

A luxury indeed.
