Advantages: An Economical pair of pillows

Disadvantages: none

Last year we decorated our box room, just a coat of emulsion paint to freshen it up because it gets well used when my niece comes to stay.
Of course you tidy up the paintwork and then you start to look at the rest of the room, so I ended up paying a visit to Argos to get some new bedding. When i`m buying anything from Argos I always visit the website first, you can check if what ever you want is in stock and then reserve it online, such a good and often time saving idea.
I managed to find a very pretty single duvet set by Dorma and was busy looking for some new pillows to replace the existing `foam pancakes`.
The pair of John Cotton Rebound pillows were on offer at £7.25 for the pair.

The pillows had a spiral hollowfibre filling, I wasn't at all sure what this meant so I decided to do a bit of research on the Internet. Its seemed that this filling is a non-allergenic material that is constructed from a very light and fluffy siliconised spiral.
The pillow cover was made from 50% polyester and 50% cotton and that they were machine washable at 40C , washed as synthetic. The pillows came complete with a pair of pillow protectors, so when I took into account that the pillow protectors would have cost at least £3 a pair the whole deal sounded very reasonable.

They didn't go into be washed until months later, I have reservations about washing pillows in my own machine so I took them to the laundry where the washing machines are much bigger. I wanted to use a gentle washing powder so I used Persil and I didn't use Fabric softener. They went into a 40C wash along with the hollowfibre duvet and the whole lot came out fine.
I wasn't sure how the hollowfibre pillows would react to being washed, but after they had been dried in the industrial sized tumble dryer at the laundrette they were as good as new.
They plumped up well and regained all of their bounce.
So the mission was a success.
One thing I wondered about was would the result have been as good if I had washed and dried them in my smaller machines at home, the machines at the Laundrette are much more spacious and once the pillows were drying in the huge tumble drier there was plenty of room for the air to circulate and the pillow filling to bounce back.

The pillows are large, comfortable and very durable. They washed well and I was really pleased with them.
Money well spent in my book.

Summary: They wash well and regain their `bounce`
