I can't remember what my room looks like without my lava lamp! It gives any room a much needed hit of bright fluorescent colour, with attractive contemporary styling and swirling, interesting patterns from the 'lava' making it a truely mesmorising little ornament. I opted for a Mathmos lava lamp, which I think personally is the only way to go. It is styled like a rocket, complete with three legged stand, acting as stabilising wings. Ever light a candle, then stare for hours as the hot wax slowly melts and drips down the side, in lovely, creamy white lumps? I'm sure you have, go on, admit it! Picture it, now. Imagine the little drips, racing each other down the smooth sides of the candle body. Sometimes they narrowly escape collision, and reach the base alone. Can you hear them cheer, those little drips?
