I bought my boyfriend a mathmos lava lamp last year for christmas, this one is the usual design which is shaped like a rocket which 3 Polished aluminium very long legs that it stands on. it does look like i wouldnt be stable at all well thats what i thought when i first bought it. it sits on the dvd rack in our living room and it hasnt fallen off once in going on for a full year so the legs are infact very sturday despite what the look like.

These lamps are great they give the room a great atmosphere with their nice glow they are kind of mesmerising i could just sit and stare and it for ages.

Ours has a kind of blue glow with a darker blue wax in it. untill i bought this i never knew they came in seperate pieces i.e you have the base, the bottle with the liquid and the wax in it and then a metal top for the lava lamp. guess its handy though for when you want to change the bulb at all.

I bought this lava lamp for £50 on the mathmos website its definately a worth while purchase to bring a nice atmosphere to any room.

Summary: lights up any room with a gentle glow
