When it came to moving into my flat just over a year ago I badly needed a new tv stand. My old one was wooden and very bulky and matched nothing else furniture wise that I owned. My Mum bought me this from B & M along with a matching coffee table at the same time and I was really pleased with it.
It came flat packed and with no tools but everything needed to put it up comes within the box and the box weighed 20kg.
My Stepfather put this up with little bother however he is rather expert at doing this sort of thing and basically it comes with three shelf pieces and four posts and basically you put the shelves as they have hole through the posts. It really is very easy to put up and took him about 15 minutes.
The dimensions of this is 45 x 80 x 48 cm so it is rather large but it is very sturdy and you get two large shelves each with a hole to the back of each so you can feed wires through it to keep them tidy and together and then to the top of it there is a shelf which can take up to a 37 inch flat screen tv. My tv is 37 inches and it fits perfectly with no overhang whatsoever.
The whole thing is black, glass and shiny and although glass it doesn't scratch easily and it comes with a 3 year warranty as well though I am careful when moving the tv or dvd player and the likes as I have managed to scratch the matching coffee table sadly!
The finishing touches are silver to pop over where you put the posts through which look really nice and once built up this does look a very nice top quality item with yet other bits of silver chrome to go around the posts.
This is widely available with matching items available to purchase should you want to, just Google if interested and it is also on sale at Amazon for just just shy of £100 which I do think is pricey however it does get the thumbs up from me and I am very glad that I own mine however it does gets dusty easily so I forever seem to be dusting mine.....not a quibble though it really is nice this!
My Mum paid less than £50.00 for this tv stand so do research before parting with your cash!
My ex bought this for our first home together. I was living in Wales and he had already moved to our house in Durham so I trusted him to get a nice TV stand. He got it on EBay as it was on offer and it cost him around £50.
I signed for the TV stand when he was in work and I put it together myself which was very easy it took me about 15 minutes and the instructions were easy to follow. The stand weighs about 20kg in the box luckily the delivery guys brought it right in for me.
As soon as I started building this I knew the blackened glass was going to be a problem to keep clean it was covered in fingerprints just from building it but I reasoned I could clean it and it would be OK afterwards.
The stand is three glass shelves, four legs and a backplate which has circular holes in to feed wires through to keep them neat and tidy.
Once assembled the stand looked nice, it is very sturdy. The recommendation is that this stand can hold a TV up to 37 inches. My TV at the time was and LED 40 inch TV but it was very slimline so it didn't have a big frame around the screen as some older LCD TV's have. I placed my Sky box on the second shelf and my DVD player on the bottom along with surround sound speakers each side on the bottom shelf and also a Wii. There is a lot of space to place things so for someone with a lot of equipment this stand would be perfect.
I didn't notice this stand as being so much of a problem in my old house as there was laminate flooring so it didn't get too dusty. However when I moved and my new property has a carpet it was then the dust issue started. I hoover everyday without fail sometimes twice a day and the stand still attracted a huge amount of dust. I could go to work and come home and there would be a layer of dust which if left un-wiped in two days looked like I hadn't dusted for weeks! I am a clean freak and it really started to bug me especially when the sun came in the room and the dust was more noticeable. I bought special glass polish with dust repellent in it and immediately after wiping specks of dust were noticeable. Once my daughter was able to get around and touch the stand things just got worse it is a magnet for fingerprints.
I wouldn't recommend this TV stand mainly because of the dust. It always looks dusty and it is really noticeable against the black colouring of the glass. When I split with my ex he took this and I was glad to see the back of it.
In terms of build quality and looks this is nice but it isn't for me.
I would give this 2 stars.
My husband and I have moved home twice in the last few years and as such we've been going through furniture like it is going out of fashion. One item that we have been using until just a few weeks ago was this Legg glass TV stand.
Our old living room TV was 32 inches and for quite a while it was displayed on a small Argos wooden stand. This was functional enough but then I decided to redecorate or living room and changed our furniture somewhat. When redecorating our living room I picked up this Legg glass TV stand which is suitable for TV stands up to 37 inches. I paid around the £48 mark for this from Amazon, with free delivery, and I had Amazon vouchers so effectively I got this for free, a price I was very pleased with! I only waited two days for delivery which was great as I had ordered mine late in the evening.
This TV stand comes flat packed in a cardboard box and weighs about 20kg. I actually built this myself, as with most items in our home, as I am a whiny perfectionist and I like to do things myself to keep control. There are three glass shelves, and four legs, in pieces, plus a backplate thing. The backplate has holes in to allow wires for TVs and other electrical items to be passed through, although as the backplate is quite small and the sides are open this isn't really something we experienced an issue with anyway! The legs and shelves stop together well and the backplate is simple to put in plate. There were simple, detailed instructions included with this TV stand and I built this TV stand while talking to my Mum and drinking tea in under 10 minutes. The TV stand was simple to move into place, as I built it right near where I wanted it and it did not mark my wooden floors at all either. The build was very simple and I was so pleased with how quick it was. The legs twist into place with ease and there are little plastic rings that sit on the bottom of each leg to stop them from scratching my floors.
The design of this is quite stylish, in that it is glass and black and therefore it blended in well with most other colours in my living room and with most items of furniture. Our 32 inch TV sat on this easily and with space just underneath the TV (that was on a small built in stand) for the remotes for our electrical devices, Xbox 360 & Tivo etc, to sit. The other shelves were useful for holding our Xbox 360, one of them, and our Tivo and other little bits and bobs that my husband seems to like leaving everywhere. The dimensions of this are 45cm deep x 80cm wide x 48cm high meaning it was reasonably sized without being too tall or large. The size was ample enough for our 32 inch TV and I feel confident that it would have held a 37 inch TV, as it supposedly holds up to, as our next TV is larger than 37 inch and I now no longer have this stand I cannot confirm for sure.
This TV stand was very sturdy and despite our TV and other electrical items adding up to a fairly substantial weight there was no sign of bowing, cracking or any damage at all. Despite our cats and kittens running all over this stand no damage occurred to it at all.
Cleaning this unit was a bit of a headache for me. I would use polish and a duster to clean it and while that would help me remove any dirt, marks, dust and cat hair I would find that even if I vacuumed, dusted and then run the vacuum over again that within moments there would be hair or dust on the unit again. Now I vacuum my home daily anyway and was dusting this twice a week but having a glass TV stand was just not a good idea for us!
Ultimately this TV stand was very nice looking, it was simple to clean but became dirty again within about 5 minutes and with the light shining through our french doors it drove me absolutely crazy! I used the excuse of a larger television to get rid of this when we were moving home and I actually gave this away for free with the old TV that sat on it to a friend, because of a small problem with the TV. I was pleased with this TV stand but felt that the design just seemed to attract dust and show it up more. I definitely prefer oak furniture as I can just dust it twice a week and not worry on the days in between that it looks like I don't care about keeping my home clean and tidy. The stand was sturdy and strong and a few people commented on it, with one of my relatives even buying the same one which I guess means they liked the look of it too genuinely. I would recommend this, but only if you don't have pets leaving their hair everywhere around your home and a husband who seems to malt constantly. I am rating this 4/5 because the product is strong and sturdy, the price is reasonable but it was just a large dust magnet for me and because of the glass being black I feel that the dirt shows up so much more than if the glass was clear.
The reason i bought this TV stand was because i thought it looked stylish and it fitted in nicely with the black & white decor of my living room. It has black glass shelves on it which i must admit do collect a lot of dust so you have to polish the stand quite frequently, but it still looks very nice!
This TV stand is big enough to fit my 38" TV on it and the large shelves leave plenty of room for my other media systems like my DVD player and Virgin TV box. I love that there is a panel down the back of the stand which has holes in it so that you can feed you wires through them and keep your TV area nice and tidy. I hate seeing wires hanging all over the place!
If you are looking for a stylish but affordable TV stand then i would reccomend this one as long as you don't mind polishing it a few times a week. You can buy it for under £50 on Amazon.
I recently moved into a new place and needed a few things for the place, including a TV stand for our new flat screen TV. The TV is a 32 inch, so needed to make sure that the stand was strong enough and big enough for this. My sister has a nice black glass TV stand for her TV and I hoped to find something similiar. I had a budget of £50 max for the TV stand, so I went to trusty old Amazon to see what I could find.
I came across the Levv Glass TV stand for up 37 inch (or 40kg) TVs with Black Legs and it was perfect. It looks almost identical to the one my sister has and it was £45.83 with free super saver delivery. It actually arrived 3 days before it was due so that was a bonus too!
The TV Stand was kind of heavy when in the box, but this was to be expected, after all it is glass! There is 3 glass sheets in the box, and all the legs, plus the extra little bits you need to put this together securely. I was worried it would be difficult to put together, as it comes totally flat packed, but it was actually really simple and even the instructions it came with were really simple. My boyfriend had it up together in about 5 minutes. The only reason I didn't do it is because my leg is still healing and I am not allowed to lift heavy items yet.
The legs of the stand all slide together really easily, and the glass sheets on each layer pop into place well. When you follow the instructions, it all goes together really easily. Like I said before, the instructions are really simple, put in normal english and nothing too complicated, I can not see how you can go wrong with them, they really are so simple. There is also a hole at the back of this TV stand so you can put wires through it to keep all wires and cables nice and tidy should you want to.
This fits nicely in my front room, I find it is not bulky or large, yet not too small that nothing goes on it. It is nice and slimline, and being black, it will go with most home interiors. It looks nice and modern without being too much to look at, and it just looks right, ya know?
The TV stand is really sturdy, we have a 32 inch flat screen on the top of ours, a wii and Xbox 360 in the middle layer, and a Sky HD box on the bottom layer, and there is not even a slight wobble. It even manages to hold on no problem when my niece decides to use it as a climbing frame. There is plenty of space for all you could need to put on it, like games consoles and TV boxes, DVD players etc without it looking overcrowded.
It is really easy to clean also, just some polish and a dusting cloth and everything wipes off, dirt, dust and sticky finger prints from a 9 month old baby!
Personally I am 100% happy with this TV stand, and I have seen the same type of TV stand for much more money, so I totally recommend getting this one from Amazon, for £45.83 and saving yourself a good deal of money. I totally recommend this TV stand for everyone, I can find no fault with it, it really is the perfect TV stand, especially for modern homes.
