“ Brand: Living Faux / Type: Rug „
Another of my purchases from Argos included the Living Faux Flokati Rug. Rugs give living rooms a much warmer feel to them and although ours is carpeted, it still didn't feel cosy enough. After browsing through the Argos website, I came across this one quite quickly and knew that it was the one I wanted. At the time of purchasing this rug, it cost £12.74 and was on offer. The normal price is £16.99 which I think I would have also paid.
The Flokati Wool Rug also comes in different colours which are natural and black. Currently, the black and brown versions of the rug are on offer while the natural version is still full price for some reason that I don't know. Dimensions of this rug are Size L120, W60cm.
After taking the rug out of the packaging, the material it is made from didn't feel very nice. The rug is 100% wool but it had quite a rough feel to it, not the soft and furry rug I was hoping for. However, after putting it down on the floor and it being walked over for a while, the wool has softened up quite a lot. I think that this will take some more doing to make it as soft as it should be but at least I will probably end up with the rug I had hoped for at some point.
The brown colour of the rug is much like the colour of chocolate and looks great on our beige coloured carpets. Although we do have other brown accessories in the room, this rug really helps to break up the boring colour of the carpet. As chocolate brown is a pretty easy colour to match, it is possible to buy other accessories to go with it instead of having a hard time matching anything to it which is a feature of the rug that I really like.
Luckily, we don't use this rug for much other than decoration as it has a habit of picking up all kinds of little bits of dirt. As the wool that this rug is made from is very thick and quite matted, the dirt gets caught up in it and is hard to hoover up. Instead of hovering, I have to really give the rug a good shake to get most of the bits out and then hoover up anything that is left over. As this is wool, washing/ tumble drying cannot be done as it has to be hung to dry naturally. While the finish of the rug does look nice, it would be better if it was easier to clean.
Overall, while this is a good, cheap rug, it isn't perfect. Keeping the rug clean is a problem especially if you use it a lot. I like this product but mainly because we don't use it very often.
