Advantages: cheap at the time
Disadvantages: Falls apart if you sneeze
Three years ago we needed to purchase some bedroom furniture for my boys bedroom. We had a look in the few furniture shops in our town and ended up in MFI. They seemed to have some nice looking furniture and the prices seemed reasonable. We ended up buying a wardrobe,a set of drawers with a cupboard on top and a five drawer set,the total cost was £159.We thought we had a bargin at the time, but not so as time went on. The design we chose was a pine laminate finish, which looked quite attractive. The furniture was self assembly, being fixed together with screws and glue.It didnt seem to hard to put together as the instructions were pretty good. Anyway three months later the draw bottoms bowed with the weight of just a childs clothing. This caused a problem of clothing dissappearing out of the back of the draw. Then the drawer runners being made of plastic, began to crack, making the drawers hard to shut, following this the hard board backing had to be repeatedly nailed back on,as they were cut to short. Then the metal handles broke off.We ended up throwing the larger set of drawers out, before they collasped completely. This furniture was a total waste of money and i would never buy from MFI again.Nor would i recommend the furniture we bought to anyone else.
