Hi to all reading this . I am a MFI fitter in the south east . I have been fitting for twenty six years , the last eight for MFI. I have worked for many exclusive shops fitting some kitchens valued at up to thirty five thousand pounds . Now you would think that spending that sort of money there would be none of the familiar problems that you hear from friends or relatives, ie ; missing pieces, damaged goods, bad fitting etc .. However, i found this not to be the case and on a much larger scale, also far more often than not.
I must say with my hand on my heart that MFI are far more organized and responsive to problems than any other shop or store that i have worked for. What people fail to bear in mind is that there are hundreds of pieces that go to making up the kitchen. These hundreds of pieces have to be ordered,loaded,delivered,unloaded,and finally fitted. There is a human element in every one of those processes and some times problems occur . What MFI have set in place is a structured procedure to try and forsee any problems and nip them in the bud before they occur . their procedure is constantly being scrutinized and changes made to provide the best possible service, which in a lot of cases far surpasses some of these stores who would quite happily sell you the same kitchen for ten times the amount .
I have seen many many changes in mfi in my time ranging from upgrading the quality of their products to the whole sell and fittng procedures , infact when i first started working for MFI i could not believe they were providing such good quality products and service for such competitive rates .
As a fitter i couldn`t just walk in the door tell them i fitted kitchens and get a job. I had to provide three names and addresses of previous installations. The MFI installation support manager then contacted the customers , arranged a time and date , then visited and accessed my abillity before offering me a job fitting . On completing an installation the fitter is required to have the customer sign a certificate before payment for the job is released, i now have hundreds of satisfied customers who have written comments of recomendation and this makes me proud to be working for such an inovative company.
The point i am trying to make is that there will always be an element of something not going according to plan but maybe that element will be less if you buy your kitchen from MFI and you won`t be fleeced in the process . There is always room for improvement in every thing we do and i`m confident MFI will continue to do just that. Remember i am not a salesman i am a fitter , i`m just trying to give it to you straight . good luck to you all . G . Roberts (Dimensions)
