Disadvantages: Loss of comfort ,cost of time ,disappointment

Having saved for a long time,not easy with four children, and deciding our children were now of an age to appreciate new items of furniture were not toys and should be treated with care,we decide to buy a new bed and a new kitchen.We spoke to all the usual suspects in the British retail market for these items and eventually did a deal with MFI. ,arranged dates of delivery and awaited our goods.Expecting a new £700 bed we received a footboard and a bag of wooden slats.On phoning customer "services" i was told" we can`t deliver the rest for another seven weeks,were`nt you told" The following week we ,less than eagerly, awaited delivery of our new kitchen,having organised a local tradesman to receive the goods at our home,"between 8 am and 1pm" and commence installation.The goods ,or most of them, arrived at 7am(an hour prior to the arrival of the professional who we had booked, at a cost,to ensure save delivery and storage of the various items on our behalf) on a dark wet winters morning as my wife was sorting out three teenagers dinner boxes and sending them of to school. We have no lovely beech wood block work surfaces and no cooker hood,even though MFI have had my money for 7 weeks.
On trying to resolve these issues i found myself talking to telephone answerers who are obviously instructed to keep irate customers away from anybody who might be deemed responsible for the company`s appalling service and customer care.Never again. MFI ? Mostly F------ Incompetent.
