A very good ironing board for the price.

I've been using this ironing board for almost a year now and I can say I have been very happy with it. Well worth the £20 I paid for it.

The ironing surface of the board is much better than previous boards I've owned. It measures 122 x 38 cm. I find this great for ironing larger items such as duvets and sheets. This makes it easier as I can iron a larger area at a time without having to move the item around so much.
It's a good sturdy board which can be altered to different heights. It can be put up to a maximum height of 94 cm so it's ideal for taller people. I'm 5ft 3 and find that I can adjust it to a perfect height. Once adjusted it locks into place and feels very secure.

It's also quite light weight (6 kg), which makes it easy to put it up and down and also move around the house. It folds neatly and can be stored well. It has a rest for setting the iron down. I find my iron sits perfectly on this. I have a conventional iron but I know that this board is fine for larger steam generator irons as a friend has one of these and has this ironing board too and it sits fine on hers.

The fitted cover that was provided with the board is very nice and feels quite well padded. I think the mesh surface really helps to make ironing that little bit easier as this helps the steam circulate through the garments.

I think this product was a really good buy. I'm very pleased with it and hope it last a long time. I would definitely recommend it.

      5 out of 5 stars!

Several months ago, whilst drearily ironing, my ironing board literally fell away from beneath me. The legs had given out, and I supposed that was the quality you got when you bought something for £8 from some bloke at a car boot sale. Encouraged to spend some more money than before, off I drove to Asda Home to see what they had in stock. The Minky Premium Plus Ironing Board was the only one there. With a stack of ironing waiting for me when I got back, and a price tag of £20 I decided to get it (driving around looking for shops selling ironing boards was definitely not how I wanted to spend my day). As it happened, this rather quick choice worked in my favour, as I ended up with what I feel, is a really great ironing board.

The first thing I love about the Premium Plus is it's width. At 38cm wide and 122cm long it provides a larger ironing surface than standard boards. To my mind this makes ironing easier as you can iron a larger surface area of clothing at once (before having to rearrange to get at an unironed bit). If, like me, you're of a larger frame, it also means you can fit whole trouser legs on the board to iron at once, something I couldn't do with my previous board.

The second great thing about the Premium Plus its it's height, which at it's maximum is approximately 93cm. This is higher than my previous board, and I think taller people would appreciate the extra height. I'm 5'6.5'' and find this too tall for me, so I simply lower the board a little to get the most suitable height. Putting the board up and down, and adjusting the height is very easy. It can be done in one smooth fluidic motion and it locks into place straight away. Once the height is set, there's no chance of it moving.

The third thing I love about the Minky Premium Plus is the ironing cover. It feels really thick and spongy (it's 5 mm thick), and you can't feel the metal of the board under it, so there's no chance of the wire mesh pattern being ironed into your clothes! The cotton cover is of good quality and comes in some really nice designs. Mine has pebbles on it.

The Minky Premium Plus Ironing Board has four legs with non slip feet, and is very stable. At one end it has a nice sized iron rest with silicon grommets to protect the iron, which is suitable for conventional irons and steam generator irons. It's very handy to put the iron on this when ironing. The legs and iron rest are also an appealing silver colour.

I honestly can't think of any disadvantages to this ironing board. In my opinion it was a great buy, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to someone else. It has great stability and ease of use, looks nice, provides a large ironing surface and is easy to adjust. I think you get a great product for your money.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Big but not so beautiful

The problem with being a 6 foot 2 man like myself, is that it's often hard to find an ironing board which will stand high enough so I don't hurt my back when I iron.

The Premium Plus has extra long legs so it can go just high enough to work for my height. The board locks up in seconds and stays firmly locked.

I replaced the cover after a few uses as it wasn't thick enough. When I was ironing, the mesh pattern of the metal board would be imprinted onto more delicate clothing. This was an unexpected expense that I really wasn't pleased about having to buy.

Another problem is that because it's so big it takes up a lot of space to store. This is understanding though considering how high it stands. The metal iron holder is rather big for my iron and I don't think my iron is much smaller than the average high street model.

Overall I was happy because of the height of the product, but unless you are over 6 ft then maybe this product isn't for you.
