Advantages: The product actually looks rather good

Disadvantages: Their hard-sell tactics will put off serious customers like myself

Moben is dreadful. With me, they didn't get past the sales visit stage. I am absolutely serious about buying a decent new kitchen and spending a fair amount on it for a good quality product and service, so I called them for a FREE, NO-OBLIGATION quote. Unfortunately, it is, in effect, obligatory to sign up on the day, because the salespeople are required to offer a "special" price which is only valid "on the day". As soon as the rep leaves your home, the offer is no longer available. How can you make a decision on the day if it's the first quote you get from a kitchen firm? Even if it isn't, you're still likely to need time to think about it, if you're going to be spending this amount of money.

This is the hard sell in its worst form.

As soon as it became clear that under no cirmcumstances was I going to sign up on the day, the rep totally lost interest, didn't do any kind of design or even sketch of the proposed kitchen, scribbled down a price, and as he left, admitted that he had "made the price up, to test the water"??!!! I don't blame the lad, he seemed a good enough chap, and I felt sorry that he had to pay for the fuel to come out to us. I blame the technique and tactics that Moben have their reps using.

Reading between the lines, it seems the reps don't get paid commission if they don't close the deal on the day. This forces the rep to say whatever it takes to get the deal. The Sales Director is doing the company a lot of damage.

Moben isn't a kitchen company. It's a sales operation, focusing solely on the close of the sale, nothing else.

If you want to waste 2 hours+ of your life, get them in.

Summary: Only get them in if you are prepared to sign up on the day. Otherwise, don't waste the rep's time!

They all try it on. The thing to do is not to sign on the day but wait until you are ready then you'll find the 'only for today' offer reappears on the table...

Agreed. Had these clowns around for two hours. Nice enough salesman, not pushy, but didn't take in anything I said.
