Advantages: no hard sell, lots of choice

Disadvantages: didn't listen to any ideas, tried to sell one kitchen and got the usual only vaild ofr 7 days rubbis

After making do with a kitchen from B&Q in the old house, which looked great for a couple of months, i have decided for my next one in my new house i wanted the best. The salesman who came to see me from Moben was great, he was not pushy and no hard sell to be seen, however he wanted to sell me one type of door, end of the range? I am not sure, but every kitchen i looked at that wasn't silver birch he told me it was too expensive etc, so alarm bells began to ring. I wanted a nice kitchen to match my 1930's semi and told him i wanted no stainless steel, he spent an hour chatting to me about what i wanted etc, and then i sent him packing to do the design, lol, i know the usual 6 hour sale pitch too well. He called me and talked about the kitchen, silver birch and lots of stainless steel to make it modern???????? and then went on about my budget, my kitchen is tiny, i thought a £7500 budget was good, but his qoute was £13000, then he told me if i took finance it would be £10500. Now I know that they are sales men at the end of the day, and after reading the reviews, I refuse to take the good fit/bad fit lottery. So instead i will have a look around. Kitchens direct they were terrible, the designer never even showed up, when i called the head office they didn't know where he was, a joke i say. So Moben/Homebase/Kitchens direct, whatever thay want to call themselves no thankyou, i will be taking my ££££ elsewhere.

Moben was a company owned by MKD Holdings Ltd, part of the Homeform Group.
Despite their high prices and often poor quality they couldn't make money.
In fact they lost around £20m a year.
A lot of this was down to incompetence - by some management, some staff and some subcontractors.
So they ended up in Administration and sold to a new owner.
The new owner is HF Group Acquisitionco Ltd.
They've promised 'Business as Usual'
This suggests to me they won't be improving.

PS I'm surprised you gave them two rather than one or no stars!

Moben may have a new owner but, as the new owner promised, it seems to be 'business as usual'.
If you want to know more about Moben then just do a search on Google for 'kitchenhell'.
A very unsatisfied customer.
