Advantages: Struggling to think of any

Disadvantages: shambolic company who do not deserve the reputation they have succeeded in getting.

I bought a new kitchen in June 2007 and am still struggling to have a fully functioning kitchen. Problems began when the washer/dryer overheated and the dryer function no longer worked. It took time to get hold of anyone on the phone but once through, I was told I needed to phone another tel. no. for an engineer. I rang the number given and an appt was arranged. When the engineer came he removed the plinth from under the washing machine and there was a loud snap noise. He had broken the plinth into 2 pieces. He mentioned this on his report and stated someone would be in touch. A couple of weeks went by and nobody called. Meanwhile my the dryer function went again and again I called the engineer. The same one came out and I told him I had not had word from anyone. He reported it again on the statement, admitting the fault was his. Two weeks later I still heard nothing and so called Moben. 8 hours later I was still sorting the problem out as Moben refused to accept any responsibility, stating it was for the company that employs the engineer to hold responsibility. This company stated it was for Moben to deal with. In the end I contacted the ombudsman, who were effecient, professional and, thankfully, successful. Soon after a new plinth was fitted. However, my dryer has overheated 3 times since and in the end I asked how many more times they would be repairing it before considering it may be a fault with the machine. The last engineer who called agreed that it did become very hot (untouchable) and recommended replacing it with a new model. This was given the ok. Now I am having problems receiving the new washer/dryer. They failed to come on the 1st date given - I waited in all day. When I called they informed me that someone had called and left a message stating that they had made another date for delivery. I disputed that there had been any such call as I do not have an answering service either on my home line or mobile. Today (July 2008) I received a door but no washing machine!!! Numerous calls later, each one taking approx 10 mins to be answered, it is now agreed that delivery will be tomorrow morning and that the engineer will also come along tomorrow morning. This is yet to be seen. They are aware tomorrow afternoon is not ok as I go into hospital then. I will never recommend them to anyone else and would love to write a letter of complaint to the director. However, nobody is prepared to give details of the director, who appears as elusive as the service.

Summary: As above

I had hoped that after over a year into its new ownership, Moben would have been knocked into shape. But judging by this example, and the many I hear about via my Kitchenhell website, they continue to disappoint. And I've just complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about their adverts gain. Good luck in getting your kitchen sorted.
