Moben sales pitch (Moben Kitchens)
Member Name: rachelreed
Advantages: Product ok Disadvantages: pressured sales tactics Our moben experience started with a visit to our local showroom as we have just had an extension built that doubled our floor space in the kitchen. Their showroom staff were very helpful and friendly and we booked an appointment for the next day. This is where things started to go wrong. The salesman who came was an hour late with no phone call or explanation and set about measuring our room. He started by saying that we would be looking at a minimum of £15,000 for our kitchen without even asking us what we wanted. As this was our first quote we decided we would carry on even though I got the feeling the guy didnt want to be there. After two hours of looking at various doors and worktops he came up with a figure of £18,000!!! which was considerably more than his initial guesstimate. Then predictably he started number crunching and managed to get us a "discount of £3000 and yes youve guessed it we came down to our original £15,000 this was only if we signed up there and then and took out a credit agreement. We politely declined his offer and asked him to leave. After reading some of the reviews on here it seems their sales pitch is drilled into their staff as we also saw the internal document about MFI. The guy spent more time pulling other companies down than tlling us about Moben. If they are as good as they say they are why do they need to try and destroy their competitors? We started looking around and product wise Moben is better than a lot of the rest ie Ikea, B&Q, Homebase etc. but a lot more expensive. We eventually came across Belgam kitchens through the numrous reviews on Dooyoo that all seamt positive. Their sales pitch was a lot more honest than some of the companies we had out and price wise were mid priced compared to the D.I.Y market and the likes of Magnet at te other end of the scale. The job has now been completed and we are thoroughly happy with the end result. The fitter that came did a great job and was more than happy to do extra work that came along like hanging doors and fitting skirting boards for us. Only one bad point really was that we found a scratch in out granite surface a couple of days ago but they are coming to polish this out next week. Good job Belgam. Summary: Got what we wanted in th end |
