when the salesman arrived (the second time) there was a number of things we asked for that was agreed at the time. "yes we can do that because we are not the average b&q, we are one of the best kitchen companys around,our quality and standards are the best" lets see!
1: we asked for solid carcus to our units that didnt have different size back panels.Mr salesman glady brought us a example of a unit from his car that was exactly as we asked for 18m all the way around. When the kitchen finally arrived (another story) the units had changed to 15m two sides with a even thinner back panel. When i complained about this i was told that my technical drawing stated that the units was 15m so there is nothing that could be done. I said that i wanted the units that i was led to believe i was buying ,the ones i was shown at the order time, their reply "its down to the customer to check their technical drawing" i argued that i had been mis sold these items but was firmly told that there is nothing i can do about it !(by the way they had already by this time cashed their money as i had to wait over a week for this appointment)
2: we asked for the work surface at the breakfast bar area to have no joins if possible Mr salesman " yes we can do that blah...blah...blah
when its fitted there is a "invisable" join right in the middle of the worksurface.When i complained about this they agreed to change it.A week later i get a phone call saying somebody from above him has said they are not changing it as on the technical drawing it shows a join(not that bloody technical drawing again i wish i had taken a design course at school instead of becoming a scaffolder who stupidly believed that he would get what he asked for and was promised) Another look at this drawing indeed shows a join but not where they have joined it it shows it over a unit in the corner not in the middle.The response " well it shows a join not there but it does show one so we not changing it anyway" I pointed out that the drawing also said 15m units and i had to check that so i was using the same checks cause obviously they were very keen to install exactly to the drawing.Oh no that does not apply in this situation ! a contridiction of terms im thinking.
3:Dont want to go on all day but this one is even better, the cooker they installed was not even the cooker we choose.We realised this when they failed to run the plinth under the cooker (oh by the way it was on the technical drawing) When we pointed this out to the area manager at our little meeting his response "ill be honest with you ive never known plinths to run under cookers . We pointed out that we choose the "free" range cooker from their brochure because we liked the idea of the plinth under. " ill have to get back to you on this one " One week later " erm yes the cooker you ordered has been discontinued you should of recieved a call to discuss this dont know why you didnt but thats the cooker we installed now so basically we not willing to change that. Customer relations at there best i am never paying upfront for anything like this in the future and have currently contacted the furniture ombusbman but im not to hopeful.
Poor quality kitchen after being promised the world dont know how some people sleep at night, feel like i have been mugged.
Splash backs installed by a trainee fitter (by his own admission) wrong,different levels, split infill wood strips at side of the units, wobbly handles, plinths that fall over when you shut the door, wine cooler fridge door dinted, cracked floor tile on kitchen delivery , splintered conservatory door dragging stuff in and out, washing machine not plumbed in, waste pipe outside fell off and about 3 miles to short , back panel splintered which seems to have been forgot about, fridge and freezer not screwed in place.Just a few problems not to mention the endless phone calls and nobody seeming to know what you are talking about. If i could turn back time i would arrange a visit and when the salesman arrived i just punch him straight in the face cause thats what it feels like to us.Think again before choosing this company whoever they call themselves at the time.
