She suffered a severe stroke in 2007 and although doctors were not optimistic that she would recover, she has gained some use of her limbs but remains severely disabled. One of her main complaints has always been that she feels the cold. She has the heating on very high, but somehow her circulation doesn't seem to work as well as it should, and she sits with hot water bottles beside her for comfort.
