Not the best furniture I have ever owned...

This is a review of the two door mirrored wardrobe from the Prague furniture range at Very the online catalogue. I will keep my review to the wardrobe as I am not impressed with Very as an organisation and have no plans to deal with them in the future once my furniture order is complete. I ordered two of these wardrobes as a his n hers thing so we have one each. It saves arguments.

The wardrobes are the smallest wardrobe the range offers (apart from the single one in the over bed unit). One door is mirrored which is a good space saving tip and also creates an illusion of space if placed strategically in the room. The other door has a handle on it and is plain wood effect. The dimensions are: H 201.2, W 82.4, D 52.5 cm which leaves us some room on the top for a storage box.

We ordered these wardrobes in white to match the rest of the furniture we ordered. They are actually a grey colour in reality which is misleading on the Very website but I do like this antique white as it looks better in a small room.

RRP for the wardrobes are £159 but they are currently reduced to £115. They are definitely not worth the higher price. Look out for offers too. We got 10% off our order and a further cashback amount form the topcashback website.

The wardrobes arrived flat packed but fortunately my husband's a dab hand at flat pack assembly and had them put up in no time with a little help from his assistant (me!). The backs were a bit awkward to slide in due to the fact that we assembled them in a room with a bed and needed a lot of swing space to slide them in the length of the wardrobe. I had to stand on the bed and hubby angled the wardrobe down but we got it done in the end.

The mirrored door does not have a handle so you have to open the other side and open this from inside. It has quickly acquired finger prints from this clumsy process which I constantly seem to be polishing off. The sides of the wardrobe sway slightly too and it feels flimsy. To be fair I am used to fitted furniture in my old house which was solid so it's a bit of a shock to be hoping the wardrobe doesn't fall over on us!

      My thoughts
Out of the items we ordered from the Prague range, the wardrobes are the item I am most disappointed with. I just think they feel cheap. I suppose you could say that they are cheap and you really do get what you paid for with these. They do look ok though. My advice would be to not jam pack them or challenge them in any way for capacity. Fortunately I have a cupboard slash wardrobe that is built into the house which is very sturdy so I can stuff loads into that space and leave the wardrobe for the more fancy things that need breathing space! I should add that Very do not accept returns on assembled items (unless faulty) so if you're not happy with it... tough!!!

      Final word
Aside from the fact that I would not recommend dealing with Very (that's another review!) these wardrobes look OK but just don't feel all that sturdy. I would have expected the smaller wardrobes to be the sturdiest but I can't comment as I haven't seen any other ones from the range when constructed. The other items we have from the range are an over bed unit and two sets of drawers and these do feel pretty solid.
