Advantages: Delivered on Time
Disadvantages: Slow to react to issues and poor quality product
We have been unfortunate enough to purchase a sofa from SCS.
We bought it last October (06), it was delivered before Christmas as promised.
It was a second sofa, for our back room, we bought it for occassional use, to watch movies. It is the Maddision sofa, in dark red leather, three seater with two of which are recliners.
We do not have children or pets, we never wear shoes in our home.
In August we noticed that the recliners on the sofas were wearing the leather away. Also, the piping along the edge of the recliners was wearing away.
We called SCS to report the issue.
SCS sent out an upholsterer, who told us it was "wear and tear".
We disputed this.... God knows what state it would be in if this was our only sofa, or if we had a family, had worn shoes etc!
After many discussions with trading standards and SCS, we were told that we would have to accept a fix, so four weeks ago both the recliner footrests were re-upholstered.
We were happy with the job, the leather replaced was identical. Good, it was sorted....
Last week, my husband noticed that the leather on the footrest was being to wear off again. This time in a different place.....
THIS SOFA IS NOT TWELVE MONTHS OLD YET AND HAS VERY MINIMAL USE!
So I phoned SCS straight away. They said the upholsterer would be in touch in three days..... We are still waiting. I have just sent them an email to remind them.
So the saga continues.
I can't say all their sofa's are rubbish..... Maybe we have just been unlucky. But they are slow to move on issues. The quality of the leather, on this particular model, is obviously sub standard.
We paid 1500 for one sofa and it's been a complete waste of money......
