I love my sofa (Sofas in General)

I have only been sofa shopping once, because my dad is generally the kind of person that will buy lots of ugly furniture from an auction and then we have to put up with it for the next ten years (only joking if you read this mum!) *cough*

Well anyway, I was browsing for furniture for my new sitting room. Most of it came from IKEA, but I found that the IKEA sofa range, like their bed range, is pretty terrible and didn't really have what I wanted. Next try was a flick through the Argos catalogue - nothing I really liked there either.

I didn't really have a vision of my perfect sofa, just an idea that I would know it when I saw it. I didn't have a colour scheme until I found my perfect sofa and it created it for me. All I needed was something that would fit in the space I had, and the room is quite long so that wasn't too bad.

In the retail park close to my house we browsed Land of Leather, which is where I found the perfect sofa. It was a big corner sofa that seated five people, it was a lovely curvy shape and was leather with 6 cushions. It was also white, not the most practical colour in the world, but it was soft and lovely and was half price. At £750, it cost the same as my TV and was just perfect! I ended up buying it a couple of weeks later after measuring the space. It arrived on time and fitted exactly, and the delivery men placed it in the room where I asked which was nice. It did however come with 4 black cushions and 2 white instead of 3 of each, but they said I could switch them (I didn't bother and it was fine).

Finally we had somewhere to sit and it smelled all nice and new for months. Unfortunately we did get some pen on it and called out the guy from the guarantee to fix it, which he couldn't really. He then told us that because the only thing we'd tried to fix it with was milk (random googling), he'd get another cover delivered for us. We then got a letter a few weeks later saying as we'd tried to remove the stain ourselves the insurance was invalid. Annoying, but not the end of the world. I still have the sofa a couple of years on and it could probably do with a professional clean but it's holding up well and it's comfortable to sleep on as well as to seat friends.
