terrible service from Sofa workshop (Sofas in General)

Advantages: Quality of the sofas is high, price

Disadvantages: no service at all, will tell you anything to keep the order from being cancelled, They really don't care

I ordered two sofas from sofaworkshop (via MFI) in July and was told of a possible 8-10 week delay in deliveries which I was prepared to accept.

Finally I was given a date of 18th September and duly argued with my boss for a day off to wait in. They never showed up at all, not even a phone call.

I contacted them straight away and was told that I had not agreed the date and so was never included in a delivery at all. I gave them the call times (I also have the phone bill) of the two conversations I had to confirm the order which they still deny. The fact that I had spoken to one of their managers to push for this date after they'd tried to wriggle out of it was also denied.

So now I had used a day off and gotten rid of my old sofas to make room for the two new ones (I now sit on the floor). The new date given was November, again after many calls up the chain they agreed to October the 15th. Well as of today (6th Oct) they have again cancelled and have no idea when they can fulfil the order (Nov 20th is a maybe)

Calls to head office actually reveal that their materials fail fire safety tests and they aren't telling people. I've the third person that one rep in MFI's HQ has spoken to today about this.

If you want to buy from them I would advise logging all calls and be willing to accept that they will not tell you the truth and will never allow you to speak to somebody else apart from the poor person in the call centre. Oh! also keep several days off ready as you won't get the order when they say.
