I came across the purchase of the Sunncamp Deluxe Single Inflatable Chair when I were looking for a temporary solution to the lack of seating in my upstairs lounge area. I already had a sofa in there, but wanted an additional chair and where better to look than trusty Amazon! I bought the chair for around £13 after seeing a lot of inflatable chairs aimed more towards children with their design and colours and they wouldn't have been adequate at accomodating an adult anyway. The chair I bought did look more than just a cheap poorly churned out product and when I recieved it through the postal system I were not left disappointed.
The inflatable chair came well packaged and the information supplied with it gave me confidence in the addention to detail that SunnCamp had put into the product. It did take a little while to inflate the chair, and I would strongly recommend you use a foot pump or basically any means other than your lungs! The colour I bought has a mainly navy blue body with a white back support with polka dots on it - very fetching! The top rim of the chair then has a band of flock for comfort. The beauty of where the PVC has been flocked is that when you rest your arms on this area they wont become sweaty from the PVC and also the area where you park your bum is flocked which will prevent all that noise that PVC makes when moving your bum around to get comfortable!
Depending on how much pressure you get into the chair and the weight of the person, the inflatable chair is very comfortable. If you under-inflate the chair you will find that it can offer little support to your back and so I advise you ensure there is an adequate amount of pressure in the chair to ensure it supports your weight sufficiently. The box states that the maximum advised weight limit is around 150kg, so not everyone will be able to use this product, but the weight limit is acceptable as it will take most adults reasonably well.
The SunnCamp inflatable chair could be used either in the house or to be kept in a caravan as a compactly stored chair for sitting outside on during the warm summer months. I am happy to use the chair in my house, but it could be used almost anywhere. I havn't had any problems with punctures, and the base of the chair has a thick PVC underside so I wouldn't expect too many problems with using it outdoors. You could also take it with you when you go to concerts etc. although you are advised to take a fot pump, of course!
You will find a lot worse inflatable chairs out there, and when buying online it is always reassuring to know that you can buy quality by taking my advice next time you consider buying such a product. Very good value for money and will last for as long as you look after it.
Every now and then my husband decides he wants an inflatable chair to play PS3 in. They never last, but he gets the idea into his head every few years, and this year these Suncamp beds took his fancy, although they were rather expensive £24.99 on ebay. The price convinced him they must be good though - the more expensive the better. I did a quick online search and found them for £19.99 at Amazon, and £15 at Tesco, deciding on purchasing one at Tesco with our weekly shop.
While I unpacked the groceries, my husband quickly got out the air pump and inflated this, only to decide it wasn't big enough. The seat of this measures only 10" from the ground, while the back is 18" high, and the diameter is 30" - my measurements with tape measures - not guaranteed to the mm. yes an adult could sit in it, but it is rather low, and my husband is a bit big. I expect it would likely go the way of all of our previous inflatables - burst seams.
However the second it was up my youngest had dived into and curled up like a puppy in a dog basket. Now he usually is very good about sharing with his brother, but he wasn't budging from this for anyone. My oldest son finally got a turn in it, and wanted to take it upstairs - to sit in for video games- but his younger brother came running back for the chair, where he spent the rest of the evening. My husband ended up buying a second chair for our older son, and gave up on getting one for himself.
We have only had these about a week now, but they seem to be holding up ok to normal bouncing about and play with the children. I will certainly update if there should be any problem. They are of course a breeze to inflate with a pump, but you can just blow these up the old fashioned way, by mouth, although it makes you rather light headed and takes awhile. They have a flocked fabric on the seat and a ring of fabric around the very top of this chair where you rest you arms. The rest is vinyl. The valves are large and very hard to press into the seat, but would be easy enough for someone with stronger hands. We did leave them out at first, but my youngest ended up opening them a few times.
Both boys have really enjoyed these. My youngest just leaves his downstairs most of the time, and wants to use this now to watch tv, hear stories and even eat dinner. Thankfully the flocked fabric part is very easy to wash and everything from chocolate syrup to red sauce has wiped up without any stain or stickiness. My oldest son is forever trailing his up and down the stairs, using it for video games, tv, reading, even doing school work. Both boys can sit very comfortably with their feet up in this or sprawl across the chair, but my favourite is when they are all curled up. They look like puppies in baskets. It does look so cosy, and the children seem to be very comfortable. They can even pull a wee blanket over to curl up and watch a movie.
I would recommend this for very young children, from about age 2 right up into their teens. I imagine a small adult would be able to use this comfortably as well, although I do hope they will last longer with only children using them. I would find this a bit awkward myself as you are sitting very low to the ground, but for a teenager this should be no problem, and I think many would appreciate this as a gaming chair.
The only disadvantages to this product in my opinion are the facts that it does take up a fair amount of room when inflated, and being an inflatable it will eventually pop as every other inflatable we have ever owned has. On the plus side though, this does appear to be a very heavy vinyl, and the seams are small and not noticeable, and hopefully will hold well.
At the price I paid, I am happy to give this 5 stars. If I had paid much more though, I would have expected something bigger and been a bit dissapointed by the size.
